intestinal bacteria dictate which food you're craving for. this is why if you are addicted to sugar it is very hard to quit. you have to fast for 1 or 2 days first, and let the intestinal bacteria die.

It is not that japanese food is the most healthy. It is that reasonable non-processed non-junk food is easy to access in japan. even cheap food in konbini or discount karaage at supermarkets would rank 6/10 in health standards. but easy access to a lot of 6/10 in japan is better than in america where most accessible food is 2/10 in terms of health. in the US healthy 10/10 food like fruit bowls and salads and proper steaks are expensive in the US. in the US, if you're fat you're probably poor because the only food you can afford is junk.
