Japan Earthquakes 2011 March

This is an animation of earthquake activity around Eastern Japan the week between 2011 March 09 at 21:42 and 2011 March 16 at 21:00 Japan Standard Time. Our home is located at the yellow stickpin labeled Sena Home near the bottom of the screen left of center. The orange colored dot near to our home at 22:31 March 15 was a magnitude 6.2 earthquake. The epicenter was about 25 miles Northeast of our house on the Southwest flank of Mt. Fuji, and awakened all of us. It was a cold night and the strong winds frequently rattled the windows of our house making sounds similar to the sounds of a quake, which made for an uneasy, sleepless night.
