Thermostat and housing was with the intake bits, it's wrapped in bubble wrap. The sludge is probs cause I was pumping WD40 into the cylinders every few months and turning it over, engine has been sitting for a few years, that's the oil from when it last ran and it was on e85, also the OG filter etc, nothing hidden :)

With the sump swap you’ll need to drill out the block to suit a forward ba/bf dipstick position & plug off the rear fg dipstick spot or if it’s Mk1 fg you may of got lucky and it’ll have the provision for it 🤙🏼 If you’re not fond of drilling the block, some install a sight glass in the sump instead at the fill level

​@Lukefink Mine has no dipstick as previous owner installed a brand new 2012 genuine long motor from Ford in a BA & it leaks from the rear of the sump & I just service it with 7 litres of oil every couple of month/3000kms with 500RWHP for over 40,000kms now with valve springs but I don't think I have oil pump gears so it will last & take the abuse as mine is manual T-56👍❗️

One thing I’d recommend would be upgrading to 360deg thrust mains if it doesn’t already have it done just for piece of mind. As for the metal pipes just change to an lines and don’t worry about the factory metal pipes

Might as well slip in a set of race bearings while you have time and invest in the arp rod bolts. It’s sitting in the shop and will be running hard a long ways away. Hope you score artech they are now making turbos as well with a Garrett core. They have the nice cast 90 all ready that so many fitments need.✌️

Rod bolts should be fine it's just the oil pump gears and the mackielec flywheel bolt retainer that it needs. White would go well with the colour of the car

Luke if you don't have the fg turbo fuel rail for the factory fg turbo manifold BA and BF will not fit you need one specifically for that manifold whether it is factory or aftermarket and you should change get the upgraded thrust bearing if it doesn't have it to eliminate crank movement cheers glenn

That sludge in the oil you will just have to do a couple oil change just to flush it out and it should be fine

Yeah the boys sounds similar set up as me mates with same cam his is on e85 pushing 750 on 26 psi it's in ba ute purple one why so serious across back window been running like that 2 years now no prob blown one turbo in 2 years of thrashing the shit out of it can't wait to see it in the Japan falcon this thing will be off Tapp

Shall not be filmed, got trapped by the mirror. Motor isn't just the weight but the leverage on the stand as it is a long motor also. Check the Dipstick location also, as there is a difference with Bafg front/rear sumps as well as the pickup.

Dude, I know that balancer looks cool but it's no good man. Barra has issues with vibration and the right balancer can make all the difference. Especially at high rpm. You need the ATI... ask LZ...

Barras only weigh 230kgs with accs, 1jz is around 220kgs so not much difference really lol

Also the design of the stand is terrible, it's not their weight it's their length. My stand is the heavy duty supercheap special and it held it fine, it's the one where the front arms are like an x shape 👍
