The type 20 is a really nice rifle however it is going to take a long time to bring them all into service, I think that it might be 2030 before we see most units using them, they are very different from the Type 89 and so it will take time for troops to use them well.

自衛隊の戦闘部隊では89式照準補助具というドットサイトが普及しているのですが、これは89式小銃の専用マウントだけでなくピカティニーレールにも対応しているので20式小銃にも問題なく取り付けることができます。 この映像では取り付けられていませんが、自衛隊の広報がTwitterにアップロードしている写真では20式小銃に取り付けている様子が確認できます。ちなみに小銃に取り付けられているフォアグリップは標準装備です。

I think people fail to understand that accessories such as optics for regular infantry are still uncommon for the rest of the world. Only a few countries, mainly the USA, can afford to do so with their massive defense budget. Even Russian infantry are equipped with naked rifles for the most part. Japan, has a small self defense force. They aren't capable of mass issued optics, and etc as of now.

It was a training for backup shots, so it was probably the MINIMI that was shot by mistake. It's a machine gun, so it's effective even if it doesn't hit you directly, but if you're going to shoot, you should hit it anyway. But who made this MINIMI? That's right. Fortunately, there were no deaths, but some people were injured.

This is a demonstration shooting at an ordinary base, not a training range, so it's not a problem with rough movements. Type twenty accessories may be purchased by individuals because they can be seen by SDF members wearing dot sites.

무슨 목적을 가진 훈련인지... 비행장 점령을 위한 훈련도 아닌것 같고 단순히 방공망 설치를 위한 훈련이면 보병을 오스프리로 강습 할 필요가 없는것이고... 그냥 뭔가 멋있는것을 보여주고 싶어서 여러 병과에서 이것저것 가져와서 보여준 것 같다만 이런 식의 보여주기 훈련이 잦으면 곤란해요

It’s a demo. Not real practice. They don’t show real practice. You think they show how the Japanese and Americans train together or separately even? They do in reality and they share many things. But they don’t show everything and tell everything on internet especially.

無用の長物的な装備品にお金を掛ける前に、隊員の待遇改善にお金をかけなよ。 ご飯とパンを同時に取ったり、事務職員が食堂で食事をしただけで停職処分されるなど、考えられん。 まずは、自衛官の待遇改善に無駄な兵器開発費を回すべき。
