Hi Fleur! It's me again who share the same birthday as you! Okay. I've tried to translate as much as I can. The packaging for the cotton pads say you only need 1/2 the amount of toner (thanks to the spongy texture). They disintegrate into 2 pieces and can be used as a mask or for putting moisturising lotions onto your face (see the pictures on the top right corner). The pink cotton buds. The colour of the pink was apparently chosen by 1000 women and this particular colour is the world's first. They would look very pretty on your dressing table! Apparently all parts are made in Japan and of high quality and contain nothing toxic and the colour won't fade. I think the French writing is just for the show (this happens a lot in Japan...equivalent to having Asian letters on British/American products). Eye lash curlers are best sellers (I have the same one, too) hope you like them. Compressed face masks. You can put one into the lid of a moisturising toner (or face mist), and put the liquid onto it until it expands and easily opens. Watery toners are more suitable than creamy textured ones. You can mix cheap water spray and more expensive toner if you like. The mascara and the lip colour say "The magic that won't end even after midnight!" DHC is Japanese. The company was established in 1975 and is a 18-year consecutive No.1 selling brand in mail order cosmetic category). Eye drops - I recommend not to use it too frequently. Although very effective, it is generally not great for your eyes' health! Perhaps check with your doctor before using as I know you've had a laser. Hope these help! xx

- The second cotton pad is famous for its claim of saving half of the amount of the product you use every time, and then you can separate the two slides to mask on the cheek for 5 minutes or so to get some extra moisture. - The cotton buds are pink for of course its cuteness!! - The compressed face mask works the best with lotion or toner. Not sure exactly if this is going to expend itself with serum because it does need very liquid-y liquid to be expended into the full-size face mask. But i guess it depends on the texture of the serum itself. - DHC is a Japanese cosmetic brand. - Everything you got for this Japan haul are my og absolute favorites!! They remind me so much of my high school, like the time when I first stepped into the world of makeup, the snacks between classes and during the lunch break. Except for the panasonic products in the end though. they were too pricy for me when I was in Japan. now that I can afford them, but they are just ridiculously expensive outside of Japan, comparing their price tag in Japan. I miss japan so much!!!!! and thank you for sharing this haul. it brings all the memories back to me

I thought I should explain the products (I'm japanese and currently living there) - So the cotton squares in the blue box are these www.cosme.net/product/product_id/10001740/top and they're supposed to absorb less product and be better for your skin because of the material. And you can use them under your eyes etc. - The pink cotton buds are these www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%83%81%E3%82%A7%E3%83%AA%E3%83%83%E3%82%B7%E3%83%A5-Cotton-Bouquet-%E8%8A%B1%E6%9D%9F%E7%B6%BF%E6%A3%92-80%E6%9C%AC/dp/B00SQUX0JY and are pink because it looks better? Yeah, it's just a pink cotton bud.... - Shiseido makes a lot of different ranges, high end to drugstore. So thats why the eyelash curler is cheap. - The little round things are face masks. You soak it in whatever skincare product you want and open it up to make your own face mask. - DHC is a japanese brand. They have a great oil cleanser as well. - I'd be careful with the eyedrops, they tend to burn your eyes (but they do make them white so....)

Hi Fleur, you were asking about the white cotton facial tablets. This is how the Japanese use them. The (dry) tablet fits the inside of the cap of a toner or essence bottle. So you might want to clean the inside of the cap first because you will then add some 10-15 drops (or less) of toner and essence into that bottle cap. Wait for 15-20 seconds and you will see the tablet soak up the toner or essence. If it still looks dry, add more toner/essence into the cap. The tablet has to be quite wet before taking it out, pulling it out gently and then fitting it right on your face. Don't take too long to do this as the facial mask can get dry. Leave the mask on for 10 mins. If you leave it on too long, it's not good for your skin. It will dry your skin. Your skin is to feel somewhat damp after removing this facial mask... it's to plump up your skin and then you apply your serum. This essence is something like a toner but more than a toner (invented by the Japanese) but I think I might have seen, maybe I am wrong, one of your videos that you used a SKII Treatment Essence. A serum would be too thick in terms of viscosity for the tablet to absorb. I'm not sure about the quality of the facial tablet you bought as there are so many brands selling such facial tablets in Japan.

That cotton pad is popular because it reduces the usage of toner. If you are using a very expensive toner, you might not wanna waste it. You can also do a toner mask with it.

Hi Fleur!! So glad i can share with you how i use 2 of those Japanese products. For the Cosme double cotton pad, i spray Japanese lotion/ moisturizing toner such as one from Hada labol on the pads. Then tear them in the middle and apply like mask on my face. This is Japanese 3 min mask regime. It works wonderfully!! I used that everyday. For the cotton masks in the pink case, you put these into a big bowl of water for it to expand (15-30 seconds), then squeeze out excess water and then pour your Japanese lotion/ or essence (something moisturizing and watery and lightweight) the apply on your face like a paper face mask. Keep 15-20 mins. Hope this helps!!!

for the compressed mask you actually soak them with your toner, preferably the thinner ones and it will expand to a face mask. Japanese girls use them very often, al lot of them use it every time before makeup, usually leave on for less than 5 minutes.

You're right. Those little white round balls are compression mask sheet. You put it in the water based serum/toner/essence water and when it is fully soaked up, you put the sheet on your face. Similar way for the blue box cotton pads. It is a trend to soak the pads with essence water (like SK-II facial treatment essence or Estee lauder micro essence water) and put it on certain areas of the face, mostly T zone, oily area or where you have breakouts.

Hi Fleur, I'm a Japanese beauty blogger based in Tokyo. Regarding the compressed sheet mask, I recommend you to use lotion than serum because it needs quite a lot of moisture to expand the mask! Using a moisturising lotion after cleansing the face is one of the most unique habits in Japan -Japanese lotion is different from toner and they are used to balance out the pH balance of the skin and moisturise. If you come back to Japan someday, please allow me to help you shop! Like you said it's hard to shop when you cant read Japanese and there are tons of hidden gems here! xx

just a tip with the eyedrops - there's a "spiciness" level (or rather how much it would sting) on the top right corner of the box. i believe 5 is this most stinging (and also the one i got by accident lol) P.S. at the risk of being accused of being an oversensitive SJW, i think it would be appreciated if when travelling to a country that doesn't speak english (which tbh is really NOT the lingua franca of the world, until the developed world decided so - and then again only by the powerful countries), to have respect for the culture rather than approach with an (almost flippant) mindset that is everything is suspect, this is weird, that is bizarre, we're don't know what we're doing and it's hilarious etc etc. imagine if that would happen in the reverse and someone not speaking english went to an all-english speaking country, they would be (and i daresay, are) heavily prejudiced for the same behaviour. i doubt anyone would find it funny. whilst when english-speaking people do it, everyone else is supposed to be understanding of and endeared by how out-of-place they feel. also, Asia covers the entire continent from japan all through to the middle east. while "Asian" may be a common blanket phrase to mean China, Japan and Korea, perhaps it shouldn't be.

Hi Fleur, to be honest I always open my sealed bags, the most important thing is that all the receipts are saved, they're all taken out of the passport and handed in at customs. Matcha KitKats are the best, as a chocolate fan if/when you go to Hokkaido I highly recommend Black Thunder strawberry chocolates, and Royce Nama chocolate. Those eye drops are godly - my mum swears by them and she's got quite dry/sensitive eyes.

You are supposed to soak the compressed towelettes with toner (e.g. SKII facial treatment essence). People in Asia usually put on this kind of toner mask before applying their makeup because it gives you an instant boost of hydration and it makes your foundation go on your skin much better and look more radiant.

HI Fleur~~ Those thin cotton pads, we use it as "masks", soak them with your normal toner and put them all over your face (just replace your normal step of toner after cleansing), ppl in Japan/Asia and myself use this method religiously, this method makes your skin hydrated instantly, way better than any masks!!!And you can use it with aqua-based serum as well!! (same method applied to the compressed paper mask) And there is another beauty gadget from Hitachi (Hada Crie) that "extract impurities" and "moisturize skin" through positive and negative ions, which is really useful for good skin!! Love you videos!! ^^

The second cotton pad you showed is from a brand called "Unicharm" :) They are popular because they are branded as "saving 1/2 of your toner" - they are very thin and become soaked even with just a little bit of toner, so that way your toner can go a long way! Hey fleur ! I am sure someone already answer bit I still wanted to help ! The weird cotton that you got, they are actually meant to be kind of the same as sheet masks. you put looooads of Lotion on it, and put it on your face (usually 2 fors the cheeks, 1 on the forehead and 1 on the chin). and you leave it for 10 to 20 minutes here. you can do it with serums as well, but a good hydrating lotion does it good as well. and for your shiseido little thing, as you guessed, it is a sheet mask. again, you are free to use serum but it is meant to be used with lotion mostly. Enjoy your skincare !!!

Hi Fleur, the compressed face mask sheets are one of my fav things to get from Japanese drug stores. So basically just re-hydrate it with toner but i would put loads of serum on my face before I apply the mask and I would only leave them on for no more than 5 minutes cos they'll dry out quite easily. Another way to use them is with the Panasonic enhancer. Hope this was helpful =]

4.54 is a mask tablet. Drop essence or something that is watery formula and it will become sheet mask for you. Serum type wont work as it is not absorbed in the sheet.

you can pull a small amount of toner or essence water in a small container and drop one pressed mask in it, and then you create a mask with the ingredients you like. In Asia, women are more likely to use it with toner before makeup.

pink cotton swab is just a colored regular one. no additional functions. You can dip compressed mask in lotion or serum and use it as a face mask ;)

Haha Fleur, Matsumoto Kiyoshi is great. It's everywhere in Japan. I think it's one of the best drug store chains in Japan. Japanese women use the second cotton box for lotion mask. It's rated very high on @cosme, a popular beauty website in Japan.

Hi from Japan :) I'm so glad that you enjoyed your trip in Japan! Well you're talking about why the q-tip is pink but it's just because it's cute haha Japanese people love cute stuff lol and the white cotton cube is exactly what you're explaining. Put some toner on it and it absorbs the toner so that you can use it as a facial mask. And also the tea you got at the airport is brown rice tea. I like it too :) Anyway I hope you will visit Japan again and hopefully I can run into you in Tokyo then!

on point with the expendable eye mask, but usually we use skin essence instead of serum as it would be lighter in texture and work better! FYI DHC is quite a big brand and they are Japanese.

The one from Shiseido, the one in the dry tablet form yes you soak them with your serums, toners or whatsoever and they expand. My mum bought some of this but not a Shiseido ones. They are from another brand but they were a lot. I'll send it on twitter for you. :) Hope you go back there with Mike maybe as a trip for you two.

these cotton #2 (not Shiseido) is actually cotton mask. You can add your lotion onto these cotton and leave your face for a while. I have no idea pink qtips. You're right, you can add your lotion or serum and become a face mask. I'm glad you enjoed staying in Japan!
