@tonyko_u1s13 жыл бұрын
What is this "The key to keeping the peace in the Western Pacific is that invading forces be stopped from over flying non-combatants" ? Do you mean ADIZ ? An air defense identification zone (ADIZ) is airspace over land or water in which the identification, location, and control of civil aircraft is performed in the interest of national security. They may extend beyond a country's territory to give the country more time to respond to possibly hostile aircraft. The concept of an ADIZ is not defined in any international treaty and is not regulated by any international body. Note: military aircraft is treated the same way but some are with additional caution of 'escorting' but there is no legal base to call these 'invasion'. Everyone do it including U.S.

Good luck with the Philippines trying to defend it's territories. Current administration is always kowtowing to what CCP wants (Due in part to borrowing money from CCP to pay off debt to IMF). If they didn't kowtow, the existing problem is that they don't possess the same military capability like Japan (Decades of political corruption have seen zero improvements to it's military (at least when the late ex president Marcos was in power, he believed in defence spending)).

This statement really illustrates a lack of knowledge of world events, and military readiness. Japan currently has two carriers, that were helicopter only carriers. With the implementation of the F-35 they refitted those two carriers for its use. Compared to U.S. Naval power, this is meaningless. You statement indicates fear of Japan's Navy...the U.S. has 11 total Super Carriers, roughly nine active at a time, one of which would annihilate both of Japan's, to say nothing of Carrier Group support vessels of the U.S. True, Japan is a U.S. ally, which is great...but the U.S. has nothing to fear from Japan if it weren't. @@jimrobinson6478 Really? The Shikakou Islands are claimed by The People's Republic of China and often surrounded by The Chinese Navy.
@jimrobinson64782 жыл бұрын
@@2Oldcoots Those islands are actually part of China, or were, before Japan grabbed them from China in 1895. As per Postdam Agreement, everything Japan took from China in 1895 or after had to be returned to China. So the islands are not part of Japan.

Allowing Japan to build a formidable military force couldn't possibly bite us on the ass. Besides, why would they have any kind of a grudge against the US?

I agree. There were a lot of dead and damaged people from the nuke. So we rebuilt them back better and stronger so we are all good now forever. Hope so.

@@jancoley9051 Japan has came a long way in last 70 yrs or what ever it is.. It was messy but Japan now would never of been with out it all happening they know that and Japan isn't dumb they know as part of the alliance they stand a way better chance against there true Enemy's! I spent a few yr's in Japan when I was a Marine wonderful people and most of the people had any grudge against america is long gone and moved on we have been great Allies for alot longer then we were enemies! Also the best Allies are born out of mutual enemies and both of our #1 and #2 enemies are also there Enemies!

Nice video with one glaring problem. The only operational stealth warplanes in the world are from the U.S. They are the F-117, B-2, F-22 and the F-35. Also, why are you comparing the concept Japanese FX to Russian or Chinese so-called "stealth" fighters? They don't have any true stealth fighters, just cheap knockoffs. That said, if anyone else can build a true 6th generation stealth fighter, it would be Japan. I hope they do.
