As one of my favorite Vlogger/Eaters, you personally did it right in both this and your other Bento Lunch Box Videos. But in the previous video that I watched I didn't feel the love from the Bento Boxes themselves - and I wanted so more info about the Prefecture's take on their own unique Bento directives and ingredients. This video offers both much better, as well as adding the term "Ekiben" to the description makes me understand better why not everything looks like a Bento. Thank you thank you. Question: What is the spread/width of quality and attention to detail in Japan's Bento Boxes from best to worst? For instant, in The States it seems hard to get a "bad" or "lazy" Bento Box because our market for Bento is mostly food-literate patrons eating a quick lunch in an expensive Japanese restaurant. And seeing as most families here don't really make homemade Bento Boxes for their kid's lunches (I did, but I think I am an anomaly), one must assume that the quality spread from best to worst in the USA is very narrow. But it seems that in Japan a Bento Box can be as low quality as the cheapest fast food, or as high quality as Michelin starred restaurant fare. The Takoyaki you tasted first looked damp and old and awful (and it clearly tasted bad too)l... and even though the Beef on Rice from Mie Prefecture looked good and seemed to taste great, it also appeared almost identical to what I would get at a Yoshinoya drive-thru in California (except for the amazing black bull-head box). But as for as looks go that one could have difficulty to fine such a dish in the States, the steamed bowl from Toyama Prefecture looked to me like a true Bento lunch-bowl (not a compartmentalized box of course, but definitely a good looking traditional Bento), and it would have cost a bundle in the US - even though it ended up being repulsive to you - translating into it being returned by a seriously upset customer as they demanded that it be replaced with something less "authentic". But then you have the Seafood on Rice from Hokkaido looked amazing for a Bento Lunch Box: a meal that would cost mucho $$$ in the states. And the Mt. Fuji Bento from Tokyo looked delicious and fun (and it is the closet to a traditional compartmentalized Bento Box). Can you shed any light on this huge spread of quality in the Bento Boxes in Japan (where Japanese Bento Boxes should be the best in the World)???

Recently found your channel and I can't stop watching your adventures around Japan. I always was amazed by all the vending machines so I love watching you go to them. You are fun to watch and always cheerful. It is nice and I never tire of watching! Also I never mind if you have bought an item and you have bought it in a different episode. Because who cares it could taste different who knows. Plus, wonderful places you have gone that you can see as well as getting to know what Bento boxes are and the nice little lunch sandwiches from the vending machine! I love how they don't have crust on the bread its cute to me! And yeah I have been looking into the Everyburger cookies because you love them so much and I see you buy them a few times. They look amazing and I love small little treats like that! I know they can be bought though not sure what shipping is but one day I will Get Sum! Have an great day and look forward to more video's that are new.. Though I have been watching a ton of old ones! Which is great for covid times!

I have been to a couple Asian restaurants in my local area in the US that serve Bento-box type meals-- a little bit of several dishes. I love the variety of tastes and textures available in one meal. Like a buffet, only fresher, and just for me. I realize these meals are not in the tradition of bento, eaten while traveling, but I will accept stepping out of tradition to taste something delicious..... Your seafood Bento looked the best to me.

The absolute best Japanese creation I actually had at a family owned Japanese restaurant in the states. It was so simple but the perfect bite. They had a tank full of urchin caught fresh and still alive. It was uni so fresh it was minutes from being alive, simply wrapped in nori, with the yolk of a freshly cracked quail egg on top. $6.99 a bite. But soooo worth it.
