Thank you for taking me along the ride, it was fun! I'm surprised to hear children's play areas are not common in in trains in Japan, as it feels you think of everything in the trains. In Finland, every long-distance train has one. They don't have a "sea of balls" (pallomeri) as we call it in Finland, though (I have no idea what it's called in English). The balls looked like potatoes, by the way 😂 Anyway, the food looked good too. 😀

This train itself has been in operation since 1963, and in Japan, designers sometimes renovate old trains like this and operate them as sightseeing trains. JR Kyushu also has some.

Our "Bratwurst" (Fried Sausage) is always very good. There are many Variants, like Noodle Soups in Japan. The usual Bratwurst is a Sausage with very fine grounded Pork Meat and Fat, with Spices, Herbs, Onions and Ice (Ice cool the Meat in the Cutter, so it not go to warm) and then cooked in Steam, so they have a mostly grayish brown Color. There are also rough Sausages who are mostly grounded Meat, who are more jucy like a Hamburg Steak. Other Versions are the small Nürnberger, the tasty Krakauer or the Weißwurst from South Germany (Bavaria/Bayern), known mostly from the Octoberfest. We eat Bratwurst with medium sharp Mustard or Ketchup and in the Summer often Potatoe- or Noodlesalad (both made with Mayonaise and some small Pieces of Vegetables like Cornichons,Onion and hard cooked Egg) with it. Your Version are "Bratwurst auf die Hand" (Sausage on the Hand), who is usefull if you want to walk while eating. Hard bread is normal, we not remove the Crust from Bread or Buns, because it is mostly the only in a Toast, who give some Sort of Taste and it keep the Food in it stable, like an Icecone. Nürnberger you often get 3 in a Bun or on a Plate with Kartoffelpüree (hot mashed Potatoes), Sauerkraut (pickled Cabbage) and sometimes with an dark Sauce (Gravy). The most famous Sausage in Germany are 1-2 grilled Bratwurst, cut in Pieces and served with a warm Ketchup and Curry Powder on top, the Currywurst. If you can get Sausage in japan similar to the one you had in the Video, simple fry them in a Pan or on a Grill (Oven work good too), cut them in slices about a Finger thick or like you want it (can be served uncut, but it would need a Fork and Knife and cut work better with Chopsticks), put normal Ketchup and Curry Powder on top. If it look like cdn.gutekueche.de/upload/rezept/7277/1600x1200_duesseldorfer-currywurst.jpg then you have your own Currywurst (best with Fries). =^_^=

At the end in the town, the architecture with the brown wooden planks outside of the buildings is a German style...so along with the bratwurst it seems a German theme.

Ah, "weiße (shiro) Bratwurst"! Nice! Personaly i would not add Ketchup, however please do as you like! I am happy there is no "best" Bratwurst in Germany, so i can have good sausage anywhere in germany. Imagine having only one good Ramen. You had german food, i had "pseudo-japanese" food! Found japanese "Golden Curry" spice mix (in cubes) at a local asian shop. Very easy to do, very tasty! But lots of onions in it. I love onions... hahaha

Looks like a really nice ride. I noticed that fewer people are wearing masks. It's the same here in British Columbia. Mask mandates were lifted last month and not many people wear them anymore. Thanks for sharing your travels!
@rustinpieces Жыл бұрын
You're years behind us, in The Netherlands - or ahead, only time will tell...! I'm actually surprised almost everybody still wears one in Japan, from the looks of it - but many were already used to wearing them in urban areas, because of the often poor air-quality.

People took off their masks to eat. If you watch carefully, when he records exterior shots such as after disembarking the train (21:09 ), most pedestrians are wearing masks.

people in japan wear mask for many reasons beyond just covid. examples such as during Sakura season some people are allergic to the pollen that the flowers give. Some are just sick and want to have civic mindedness and not spread to others. some even wear it cause it spare them time to do makeup ( for ladys ) to name a few
