The good: We trulyenjoyed the convenience and flexibility of unlimited travel within the designated area, exploring destinations like Itoigawa, Osaka, and Kanazawa without worrying about individual ticket purchases. The Shinkansen ticket and boarding process was stressful at first but it was a breeze going back as we got the hang of it. It was an efficient and comfortable transportation between cities. The Ekibens, or station bento boxes, offered a delicious sampling of local cuisine, adding a flavorful touch to your travels. However, the bad might included occasional stairs that made hauling luggage a sport, the stress of worrying about disrupting your itinerary or comfort during peak travel times. The ugly also involved navigational challenges, time constraints in between transfers, encountering confusion or difficulty communicating at stations or with staff. Overall, it was an enriching journey with its mix of smooth travels and hurdles, culminating in a seamless ride back to Narita Airport aboard the Narita Express filled with memories for a lifetime.

Sorry, you covered your whole story but really did not share how you made reservations. Did you use online reservation features or did you just do a one time reservation at the ticket office

It was mentioned in the beginning. We bought vouchers online but they needed to be mailed to your residence so make sure you have enough time for that before your departure. The vouchers need to be exchanged for the actual tickets at any major train station and be sure you have your dates ready and the cities you’re visiting. 😊

How long does it take to get from Tokyo to Osaka ?

@krobverpunk If you take the Shinkansen, around 2.5 to 3 hours. We stopped at one of the little towns in the way so it took us a little longer. 👍🏼
