Japan Scrambles Fighter Jets After Russian Plane Violates Its Airspace Thrice | Subscribe to Firstpost
Japan protested with Russia after a Russian patrol plane violated its airspace three times, according to Defence Minister Minoru Kihara. Kihara confirmed that a Russian Il-38 aircraft entered Japan’s airspace over waters near Rebun Island, Hokkaido, on three separate occasions. Japanese F-15 and F-35 fighter jets issued radio warnings to the Russian military and deployed flares during the third breach. The incidents took place on Monday, Kihara added.
