I've gotten a similar effect shooting out the back of a Eurocity train in Germany. It looked like the ties/sleepers were moving in the same direction as the train.

Having ridden trains in 22 countries, this is why Japan is my favorite. The variety of trains on all six JR companies and private railways is amazing, especially the Limited Expresses. Hope to get back there sometime . . .

@@amtrak_121 Well the tracks gauge is 1067mm so it’s kinda difficult. Plus there’s a lot of turns as the trains go through very mountain areas sometimes…

@@amtrak_121 There are some lines where the trains go up to like 130 km/h or 80 mph. And honestly they have bullet trains so there’s not much of a need to make the express trains faster.

I love Japan trains. I think I've taken them about 20 times at the most. But they are always efficient, punctual and clean. Even being at the train stations is an enjoyable experience. Arigato godzaimasu. 🇯🇵🇸🇬
