I feel that since the pandemic started companies have been taking advantage, I have been finding that that not only has the item shrunk in size but, the quality has changed and the price has risen. I know we have always had shrinkflation but, it is just ridiculous now. Recently I was going to purchase 4 apples and the charge was $11 CAD, that is like 1150Yen, it is just crazy, and no, I didn't buy them

Great to hear your boys like books too. My daughter is the same, she can spent hours in a bookstore and come out with at least 5 books (not good for mommy's wallet 😅🤣) The mini taiyaki look so delicious! I have a mini microwave taiyaki maker, perhaps I'll try making someting similar one day. Never thought about making a float at home. We don't have that drink here so perhaps that's why. I did make a fun drink with wata ame (cotton candy). Put some in a glass and pour over cider. It changes the drinks colour. My daughter loved it.

In US floats are named after the soda ie: a root beer float with ice cream is called a "brown cow" brown for the color of the soda and cow for the milk.

Thank you for this new video Linna. In the condiment store I think I would have stayed all day and wanted to buy everything. I love rice crackers as well dirty with soy sauce as those a little whiter and sweeter, every time I go to the Japanese grocery store in Paris I buy some and then the red bean butter yum . We are also lucky to have Muji here which offers delicious snacks that are not too expensive 😍

I had the opportunity to eat a genuine Japanese restaurant for lunch today. I sat at the bar and got to watch the chefs makes sushi. I also had hot tea in a lovely black teapot that reminded me of the one you bought recently - and boy, that teapot was heavy. The tea was good though and I was excited to eat in a real Japanese restaurant.

chicken size shrinkage, i think, is a global issue now since we're experiencing the same thing in my country too 🥲apart from that, we are also experiencing a shortage of onions. a kilo of onions in my country is around PHP550 or JPY1,294.23 - as of today's exchange rate 😵‍💫anyways, negativity aside, it's always a good time when out and about with family! 😃

No, they are quite different in my opinion. Enoki is slimy in the beginning but quite crunchy as you much in it. Shiitake is much softer

Hiya Linna my sweet friend. I hope your family and you are all well. I really love your cooking Linna, and I am going to ask my friend who spent 4 years in Japan teaching English,would she give me some recipes. She has moved to London from Liverpool and has a hectic job so we don't see much of each other now. But I am determined to at least try some different recipes. I looked in my cook books that I have and there are some recipes. We have got 6-7 Japanese grocery shops in Liverpool so there is no excuse not to try. I am getting really excited about this. Just hope I can do it justice. My friend has traveled lots of places so she can give me information on other dishes as well.
