We’ve continued on our Hokuriku JR Pass trip and arrived at Kanazawa! This historical city is famous for its gold-leaf craft and well-preserved districts. 🥇 During our stay in Kanazawa, we took a day trip to an UNESCO heritage site in a mountain village called Shirakawa-go in Gifu. I really felt like I went back in time during this trip!
Our 1-week 🗾 itinerary: Tokyo Station (skipping Tokyo) → Nagano → Shibu Onsen (Yudanaka) → Toyama → Kanazawa (& Shirakawa-go) → Kyoto → Osaka.

Hi Joe! Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I think it really depends on what you’re looking for. Kanazawa has a lot of history and reminds me a lot of a version of Kyoto. It’s a great place to get a sense of old Japan. And Nagano has a lot of ski resorts/ slopes, although not too sure with the upcoming summer months. Both of the cities are charming and I’m sure you’ll have a lot of fun in either one!
