Dishing out red cards has got to be regulated better , a stand down 20min period would be ideal, it’s punishing the whole game all together,and as for the TMO might as well be the ref no point having one on the field

I thought that a knock on involves a fumble where the ball goes forward. Losing control where the ball goes backwards is surely not a knock on. Red cards were the right calls .
@Fongpaay Жыл бұрын
So I discovered the specifics of this knock on scenario when it came up in a SA lineout last year. The starting reference point for a knock on begins from the last point in which the player was in control of the ball and ends when it hits the ground or another player. So even though the ball may well have bounced backwards off of the fijian player's body, his momentum meant that the point at which the ball touched the ground was further downfield from where it left his hands which makes it a knock on.

Imagine buying a ticket for a match in Japan, to go to France. You then take yourself halfway around the world at great cost in the hope of watching an entertaining and competitive rugby match. Throughout the match, the referee chooses to issue red and yellow tickets as a result of a few questionable ‘errors,’ which obviously unbalances the game. Any hopes of a good game are dashed. You later stay on, in Paris, to watch some televised matches of New Zealand, and see how that team seems to get away with some very peculiar judgements, without penalties, and you are left wondering, ‘was it all worth it?’ I am aware as to how difficult it is to rule the game accurately. As that is the case, please may the authorities work it so you can. Don’t let it be spoilt by Wokish regulations, otherwise, we’ll all just pack up and leave it all behind. Everyone wants to see a fair and flowing game, where excellence is rewarded, and ‘fowls’ are penalised with sensibility, but it isn’t, everyone can see that. I can do nothing about it, apart from ask for sense and sensibility to take it’s place, so that enjoyment of the game may be restored.

In this case the ref applies the rule word for word, I think it is good. Even if these impacts don't look too bad, they can be very dangerous with a little bad luck. A few years ago the French winger Rémi Grosso walked out with a skull fracture after such a tackle, end of his international career. The tackler (a new Zealand player) only got a yellow. The main problem is, as you stated, the refs seem less likely to enforce strictly these rules against a few privileged teams

The TMO is going to be the most easily corrupted official in the game. Just pay him to miss all your teams infractions, and to be over zealous in finding every little thing wrong in the opposition team. What a joke. Get rid of it. If the ref on the paddock missed something that is on him let it go.
