Each time I watch Japan play I am in love with their smooth transitions and creative play. They figured they can't go toe to toe with the Russians on the net and they absolutely found other methods to score point. What beautiful tactics.
@thefilthydjinn52245 жыл бұрын
So what pattern would you suggest, Henry? I am not sure of the total line up of their team so I don't know if they can go for something like that without sacrificing their defensive capabilities on floor.
@johnsambilad5734 жыл бұрын
@HenryDavidT thats why people have always sad that the middle blocker positions of Japan leave a lot to be desired, granted they have good attack coordination but not as good as USA's smashing quicks (mostly cuz of USA's great setter) and onodera and and some other MB's got good serves esp onodera's strong floaters, in terms of blocks they're not the "stuff-block" point winning kind but more of the consistent One-touch kind and as a matter of fact Ishikawa and Nishida are rather good at blocks themselves despite being shorter and having different positions

This is japanese volleyball at its best. Made adjustments, spreading the ball more. not just ishikawa and nishida killing the ball everytime. their setter is super consistant and although hes smaller, dude hustles like crazy and has a mean mean jump serve. the newer middles they have playing are confident and are just killing it!!! proud of the japnese team!!!

Japan needs to utilize their middle spikers more, since they already have 4 very dependable wing spikers (for me) and atleast find a taller setter. As we can see height does matter in volleyball. Height plus skills would make a very strong team.

@Video Lendir Lose is lose, agree. However, need your advice how to grow new/young players? Russia already played 3 major tournaments in 2019: Nation League, Olympic qualifying tournament, European Championship. Now they're playing WC. If you're a coach, you want to see as many players who are available. It's not an excuse, it's a reality, Don't forget that players also play for their clubs (their full time job). Last thing, Russia has a new head coach, who's from my beloved Finland. He's working with Team Russian only 1 year. It's hard to built a solid team in only one season. And, of course, congrats team Japan with a great performance.
