Glad to see Mini Stop getting some love! They used to be one of the "big four" convenience stores in Japan when I lived here 20 years ago, every bit as ubiquitous as 7-11, Family Mart, and Lawson (they even had a catchy jingle like 7-11 used to and Family Mart still does!). But then I left Japan for like 15 years before returning, and suddenly, it's the "big three" and Mini Stop is like a rare, dying breed. I feel they don't get nearly their due, as they really are one of the best conbini brands -- I dare say I typically find more to like in Mini Stop than I do in Lawson! You should cover Yamazaki Shop next, since they're also one of the classic conbini chains that still manages to cling to existence despite being completely upstaged by every other conbini chain. And they have good bread products, which is what sets them apart from their competitors! You should also travel up north sometime and cover Seicomart, because I know nothing about Seicomart and would love to know more about Seicomart, and I'm sure you'd be fine using Seicomart as an excuse to take a Hokkaido vacation. Seicomart. ;)

@@-_Andreas_- Yep! As a regular conbini bento enjoyer, I always enjoy seeing what Ministop has on offer. It tends to differ from what the other conbini are doing, usually by giving it a Mexican spin or something. Good stuff!

This is interesting because in my country, the local Mini Stop franchise wasn't renewed, and all the existing Mini Stop branches got rebranded to Uncle John's (the name of the founder of the conglomerate who once held the Mini Stop franchise). Funny enough, it's Lawson and Family Mart that aren't as strong/popular lol

In the Philippines, these got turned into Uncle John's fried chicken (and assorted crunchy things and regular convenience store stuff). The chicken is huge and crispy and delicious (albeit a bit salty), but their little nuggety things are nowhere near as good as the ones shown here, nor do they have riceballs. Oddly, 7-11 is the one that started going all in on Japanese... and Korean food.

Mini Stop is my go-to when I want to indulge myself with fried chicken. here in our country they serve a 6-pc fried chicken bucket that only costs about $9-10. they also come with gravy and you can ask for more with a cost of just a few cents. the Chicken pieces are also huge, they are about 2.5x bigger than what Jollibee serves while also being cheaper. they also have cheap rice meals that only costs $1-2 and it used to be my lunch back when I was working at Manila.

With learning any language, it helps a lot to immerse yourself in the language as much as you can. Music and media consumption help, and its even better if you can practice talking with someone fluent. Also, I would high recommend studying hirigana, katakana, and some basic kanji using a textbook/workbook, as knowing the writing will further cement your vocabulary knowledge, and it will help with learning new words as well!
