This is an amazing setup. I think you covered everything you would need. I'm mapping out my basement in my head and want dual vewlixes and something for vertical games. I'd love a small Mini Cute, but the prices make that unobtainable. I am also RGB modding my consoles to go along with a dual RGB-modded Trinitron CRT setup. I supposed I could have gone with the mister, but I already had some consoles.

I subscribed because of your NNC LG Dualup swap, but it's cool to see that you actually found a new CRT monitor for it! Have you only found a donor tube, or a complete monitor? Also, the Blast looks really nice and the Trinitron as well! It's amazing what good quality a consumer TV can bring to the table, it does not look out of place at all in the line up!
@dorfus Жыл бұрын
The Blast City actually came with the Toshiba- but I had to recap it. At that point the Kortek that had been in the NNC had been through its second full pro repair, so I put that in the Blast- the main issue was swapping the tubes on their frames. The frame for each machine was specific, and neither of the frames fit the chassis the individual tubes came with. It was a mess in my office for like days.
@austimat55 Жыл бұрын
Is there a specific guide you followed to setup Launch Box / Retroarch on your NNC? A lot of the guides seem to be more focused on Groovy MAME and running at 15khz as opposed to 31khz.

@@FlashGameplays I use a PC (it’s an older one I used to use for work) for vertical games. Final Burn Neo does a better job than the emulation of the games on Steam. As for the Vewlix, I got it a while ago for fairly cheap when the Japanese arcades shut down in 2020. I think you could check out Hadouken-Arcade.com though- I did get a bracket for the LG monitor in the vewlix from him. He sells full machines I think.

@dorfus I just ordered a blast city and I my plan is to run it in tate mode to play vertical shooters. I would love to pick your brain on how you are doing this on your new net city? It looks like you are running a pc with big box. Is this true? If so, how did you configure it. More or less.
@dorfus6 ай бұрын
Yes! That’s exactly what I did. Your ease of doing this will really depend on the type of monitor you get though- my Blast city has a tri-sync, so it can run a 480p signal from the pc easily. The Net City only came with tri syncs. If you have a monitor that can do only 15k, it’s a lot tougher to get a PC hooked up.
@arthurclayton88666 ай бұрын
@@dorfus it's the original trisync monitor, so that is good to know. Mame runs fine on it? I keep seeing people using groovy mame. Are you using that? Also what is your I/O the original hardware or brooks boards? Thanks again for your help
@dorfus6 ай бұрын
@@arthurclayton8866 Yeah, anything that is 480p will run just fine on a tri-sync. You'll be scaling it PC side, but that really doesn't add lag. The GPU in this is I think the last one that supported an analog output- the GTX 970 or 980- I'd have to double check. I actually use FBNeo for pretty much all arcade games at this point- not MAME. I/O is all Brook and USB.
@arthurclayton88666 ай бұрын
@@dorfus Thanks, any reason why you use FBNeo over Mame? Is there better latency with FBNeo? I am not familiar with FBNeo and I need to research it

Do the brook boards convert everything in one or would I need to buy a different board for each device I’m converting- pc, ps5, Switch so on ?
@dorfus7 ай бұрын
The brook boards connect to anything with usb, and convert inputs for it. Some consoles like PS5 are a little tricky- you will need a higher end Brook board if you want to play ps5 specific software. I’ve also found the ps5 specific software to be picky about usb cable quality, and the number of cables chained together. The Switch does require you to hold down a button at the time the system is powered up or comes out of sleep. For everything else, it’s fairly automatic.
@dorfus7 ай бұрын
And to just go a step further- Brook makes a lot of adapters that go from say a Dreamcast or Neo geo to usb. Those then connect to the boards as shown.

That's the board that came with the 2008 Kortek Tri-Sync I've got in the Blast City now. It's had quite a few issues, but the image quality is very good in 31k. I'm not super happy about how the geometry looks at 15k though, way too much distortion on the sides. Definitely made for 31k content.
