Translation of the letter. So it seems that lady with two kids already gone back to Japan and live there at the time of this letter. She befriended this lady Mrs. Colleoni who was from Japan also while living in Italy. She was probably contacted by someone (Giovani) she knew in Italy who were getting married to a Japanese girl about the wedding kimono, which prompted her to write to Mrs. Colleoni. Dear Mrs Colleoni, Rain season has ended in Tokyo and the temperature here reached 34 degree. We entered the summer for sure. I am sorry to send you a letter other day out of blue. I talked to Morimoto San regarding Kimono. We also discussed with Giovani’s fiancée, Izumi’s mother and grandmother about it. To rent a wedding kimono would be a much trouble to care and return. We have decided to use Furisode kimono for the wedding. I am sorry to trouble you by asking for your assistance. I think Giovani remembered what a hassle it was when he rented a Kimono from a Kimono show. Time has pass so quick. Since I first took 4 years old and 1 year old children to Italy, 10 years has passed. I don’t feel like I got older. I was in early 30 back then. But now I am in 40s. However, for me to experience living in Italy when I was in early 30s, it will be a most beneficial experience for rest of my life. Last Saturday, I was asked to translate the interview of a producer, Mr. Yamagata from Studio Ghibli, an anime studio RAI did. Mr Yamagata ‘s production called Heidi, Girl of the Alps which was produced 20 years ago seems to be popular in Italy now. He also produced the movie Grave of the Fireflies which stages 2 children during the war. It is 50 years anniversary of the ending of the war now. That was the reason for that interview. The interview will air on RAI -2 on August 5th at 22:00 to 22:30. If you have time, please watch it. I am sorry for telling you all these nonsense. And I am sorry for trouble you for the wedding kimono. But it is settle now. I hope one day I can come to Milan again and see you again. It will be hot from now on, but please take care yourself and be healthy. (Last name) Kayoko

That letter at 25:37 was written in 1997, and was sent to a person called コレオーニ(Colleoni?) Inside the letter, in the first paragraph, the sender said the weather was getting rainy and hotter in Tokyo. And then, she mentioned that they tried renting a kimono as wedding dress but it didn't go well, so they changed the plan to use 振袖 (also a traditional Japanese dress). Next, the sender said it was almost ten years since she bring her 4 years old and 1-year-old children to Italy, and she now had reached 40 in her life. Then she mentioned the director of Studio Ghibli who created Grave of the Fireflies was recently interviewed by RAI (a TV station?), and recommended the recipient to take a look at the show. In the next paragraph, the sender asked for Colleoni‘s permission to accept the current proposal about the wedding dress. And she said she still wants to go to Milan to meet Colleoni there. Sender's name: 橋田知佳子(Hashida Chikako)

And those same people built their Wealth by overcharging people for products and Services they provided in their businesses but only to Satisfy their sense of Pride and Accomplishments, at the end of their lives; Not One of them Can enjoy ALL that Wealth; they live miserably and lose their health, that's because they robbed too many people of their peace of mind. I was born in Hong Kong and growing up there were quite a few houses quite similar looking to this Abandoned one that my friends and I would go explore in. Something they all have in common is that the houses are all still fully furnished just like in this video, clothes still hung, toys, newspapers, everything was still there! Always made me wonder what happened to the families who lived there. Were they taken? Did they have to run away from someone/thing? It’s not very HK to move houses without cleaning the old house first. Love the mystery and imagining the history of those homes. And thanks for posting this video, urban exploring is awesome and you did it in the most appreciating way possible 😊

10:56 It’s Hina ningyo(雛人形,ningyo means doll). Hina ningyo are displayed at Hina matsuri(雛祭り,the Dolls' Festival) in March to pray for the growth and happiness of girls. They are modelled on the Emperor's wedding. The wife of this family must have brought them with her when she married. 14:49 玉善作(tamazen saku,made by tamazen). It shows that it was made by a company called Tamazen(玉善). The company still exists today.A zodiac figurine is placed here. 23:25 If you are referring to Mizuko dolls(水子人形, Mizuko ningyo), that is not the case. It is simply a type of doll that was popular in Japan in the past. Various toys and sweets are offered to the child who could not be born, so the offering you saw probably happened to be one of these dolls. 35:20 It is not a picture of a samurai. Thank-you for being an urbex ghost- being very respectful, responsible and careful as if the property was your own. The decor reminds me of the 1980s fashion (as per Scarface) of opulent French/Italian Rococo. The wall paper is called damask (as are the blue fabric chairs)- and it seems very high quality so French, Italian or Japanese silk is possible. The white substance is ceiling plaster falling off due to water leakage- which would explain the damage to walls, wooden furniture, the fungus and sloughing off of wallpaper. The kitchen reminds me of wealthy people's houses in SE Asia- often with 2 or 3 kitchens- the plain kitchens were for prep and cooking (lots of fried foods= messy and smelly) area and finishing and plating is done in another room. The 17:50 piano keys is an indication of a lot of humidity for a very long time- the key mechanisms are rusted and fused with their felt bushings. The painting 9:34 looks like a typical tourist painting from Hawaii, Philippines or Indonesia

I've been thinking the same thing. I see buildings abandoned for only 10 years completely destroyed by natural deterioration and yet I've barely had to perform even minor maintenance on my home I've owned for 7 years (and even then it's things like leaky taps and not structural damage). So I wonder why things go downhill so fast the moment people leave, when we aren't necessarily doing all that much upkeep whilst we're here in the first place! The only logical thing I can think of is windows or doors being left open and the inside then being open to the elements and wildlife for an extended period of time.
@herminialowry33574 ай бұрын
@deryaerkann Yeah, I get that, but I'm referring more to the insane amount of structural damage in such a short period of time.

I don't know about this house, but I've seen a house just like it before. It's on a plot of land just outside of the city. It belongs to a very rich family I used to work for. It was a wedding gift for the man's daughter & her fiancé, complete with heated stables & horses, 14 dogs ex. The girl & her betrothed were in a bad car accident, the fiancé died & the girl was in a coma for a long time. Her Father had all the dogs put down, he wanted to kill the horses too but someone saved them, luckily. So now, the house sits there, a maintenance team goes out to surface clean, tend the garden, check for leaks ex about 2 to 3 times a year. Inside it's just as they left it on that day. I call it a "monument to disappointment". The Father died in 2021, maybe the family will sell or demolish it now.

I’m sure they had to leave for a good reason and took the photos so no one would know what they looked like. What do you really think they had going on in a home like that? It’s obvious with just the little bit you can see from this video 😊 They were more than likely running for their lives.

How do you know the dramatic story of this woman ? The little wooden things in Japanese are just the name plates of the artists that maybe made those little ceramic figures. In the letter her friend,a professional interpreter, who also lived in Italy for a while (according to this woman’s resume) is giving an update about life in tokyo she also mentions that RAI the italian TV came to interview her because it was the 50th anniversary of the war and ghibli’s movie is based on the war(she worked on the movie, the italian version). The trophy with the winged lady is for a dog show and the “paintings” are not painted by the family but horse riding competitions. Looove the green bathroom, tragic how such a beautiful home is disintegrating

I enjoy watching these videos and, it saddens my soul because the story hasn't been completely told. A series of ALL the info, the human story, would be a great follow-up for many of these tragic and mysterious "mansion" stories!

Material can be replaced I just hope they were able to stay together. From your back story she seemed to love her new husband deeply. The chandeliers were my favorite.

They seemed to have "lived" in the entire house. So many who have large homes don't furnish more than half of the rooms. I like that they had all the bedrooms furnished in some way.

if some people closed and left their home even for long time, it do not mean that they abandoned it, they still own it and no one have the right to even just trespass there

Those painted cabinets and the green dresser are so pretty and in good condition, it's a shame to watch them not be used anymore. That always depresses me with these videos, seeing all the delicate craft manshift slip into decay

As for the family pictures.. we Japanese people don’t have the custom of hanging family portrait on the wall… we do have or used to have many pictures in albums . It seems that someone in this family were catholic and someone was Buddhist, not the kind we practice in Japan but in India, from the pictures. I didn’t catch if there was a couple bedroom. Most of the bedrooms have such a small bed. Not sure if that’s an Italian thing or not. One of the Japanese book is for cancer remission.
