Thank you so much for this video! I was so confused the first time I went to a restaurant in Japan. The waitress spoke to me and I just went blank because I had no idea what was said. 😭 She very patiently helped me understand and spoke casually. I felt so bad, because her boss seemed to be upset that she spoke to me casually. 😱

みさ 先生、 First, it is good to see that you seem to be feeling better. Second, this video REALLY helped to make more sense out of the various levels of polite speech, the explanation of the different verbs was particularly informative. In trying to learn Japanese, it’s been confusing hearing so many ways to express the same thing. This video put a lot of that information into a very compact reference that I will watch over again to help it sink in. いつもいつも有益な授業を教えてくれてありがとう!

I remember trying to learn these in Japanese school. My head exploded. When i panic, i speak half casual and half polite because brain can't decide which to use 😂 例えば: 私 は昼ごはんに寿司を食べるけど、時間がありませので早い食べます。i often combine -ru and -masu when my brain panics. But if i have alcohol in me, it's fine. 😂 Still can't learn humble and respectful. Will try to learn those later...again 😄
