I still remember when one of those candy artists came to the summer festivals at the local shrine. An old man with amazing skill and he was really fast to make his artworks. It is good to see the young generation keep the art going!

@@KYNAEVIL yes, it was a spectacular, particularly when you were young, seeing right in front of you. And he was talking all the time, explaining and entertaining, interacting with us, until the big reveal. Nowadays these artists have shops on the tourist attraction streets, but in old days, they worked alone, went around to the festivals and to some street's corners pulling the little carts. It must have been a hard work.

It would be something they get used to over time. They would probably start with wearing cotton gloves under the latex ones until they build a resistance to the heat. They would be opting to only wear minimal gloves to make working easier. It would be a skill practiced for a long time.

This type of candy art is amazing to watch in person. The candy designer moves like poetry. There used to be a woman who did this in Disney's EPCOT until she took a well deserved retirement. She had told us that traditionally only men were taught this craft, but her father taught her how. I wonder if she is now teaching a new generation.

Its sugar. I doubt there is much flavoring if any. The color is all food coloring. So it tastes like rock candy or a lollipop that doesn't have any added flavor.

べっこう飴細工はお祭りの時に見た事が有りますが平面での細工だからね。このアート立体的アート3次元的な作品ですから作品に力があるし見ている人を引き付ける感動すら与える、素晴らしいですね🎉女性が作って居るから優しさがあり作品に、可愛らしさがある。常に熱が有るから動物の表情を出すのに固まる事を想定した表情を作らないといけないから苦労していると思います。
