As someone who has spent a lot of time in Japan, this seems entirely appropriate to me. 31 (Baskin Robbins) is very popular in Japan, and the song, ice-cream and imagery are all about "happiness" 幸せ

I liked the McDonald's commercial that used local things from the prefectures! 3:53 on. Akita-ken with the forest monsters, Tokyo-to with youth fashion, Kyoto-fu with the geishas and sakura and Okinawa-ken with traditional shamisen music and they also used Okinawa dialect, didn't they? But I didn't get the traditional thing in Hokkaido..... Someone...?

Athelstan. I agreed with the fact that the commercial compilation was unique and enjoyable. and that I did not mean to offend you or anyone, Derogatory was not the exact word I was looking for , however with all these WTF Japan and Wierd Japan websites and articles from western media saying how Japan is wierd ( often playing it in the negative sense) I was thinking in that direction. at the time of my post A lot of people from other countries (US and the west especially) often make comments on said compilations often posting using the common WTF is this "S" not really wanting to know what they are viewing but rather with the intent to be perjorative against Japan japanese people and Japanese traditional and popular culture. and to a lesser extent start "flame wars" between fans of Japanese Culture and trolls/haters. in some cases the word wierd or even bizarre or absurd is often peppered in with that. and in a lot of cases maybe not a lot that youre aware of its much over used to describe the Japanese culture. and I say this for other cultures too in conversations online and off and unfortunately I kind of was thinking of that . when I saw your post. and No I was not looking at the comment to start arguments nor do I Go to videos to start arguments ( Actually I usually watch KZbin with Safe mode to avoid the comments however I could not access the vids with safe mode on) and your comment caught my eye. Again I did not mean to offend you personally
