Had a dance with one in Air AB a month or two ago in my T18B. Kudos to the pilot for actually trying to use it for its intended purpose, but the T18B is way more maneuverable than it. After the third split-S that he couldn't follow, I got tired of having him follow me around and sawed off one of his wings with the Hispanos.

I only play air rb since ground battles are insanely frustrating for me getting sniped from 3 miles away when you are behind concealment. The Ki-109 for me is a strange one, I love how good it is for taking out the harder AI ground targets in air rb that other planes struggle to damage but it comes at the cost of absolutely relying on your team to be competent enough to kill most of the enemy fighters or at the very least competent enough to keep their attention away from you.

it's not an attacker because it's was meant to hunt bombers, that's why it was at BR 4.7 when it was introduced. but no one ever used it to hunt bombers, because player controlled gunners are too intense for japanese aircraft a quick wikipedia search reveals the type 88 gun was an AA gun. They mounted an AA gun to a ki-67 airframe. it could be the ki-109 was meant to carry airburst shells against bombers, but we don't have those in warthunder

There needs to be more "attackers" in several tech trees. Several aircraft in the British line were historically more an attacker than a fighter. The Wyvern for example, the Hurricane mk. II, (aka the Hurribomber), and the Typhoon. Even where designating an aircraft as an attacker is a bit of a stretch, they should still ensure at least a handful in each tree gets the designation for CAS and for warbonds missions as well. I have been a proponent of letting an aircraft designation to change based on the loadout. Lets be honest, an F4 carrying 11,000 lbs of bombs really is a bomber and with 285 ffrs is actually an attacker.

Pretty sure other Japanese aircraft of the era did not have hydraulic control surfaces. I bet this would explain both its sluggishness to make quick fine movements, and also its tendency to compress.

Now, slagging Chi-He is little bit out of nowhere. BT-7 has basically only speed advantage compare to the Chi-He. Otherwise Chi-He has better armour (Front is 50mm), doesn't die from 50cals, has flatter shell trajectory, gun is stabilised (at slow speeds), -15 gun elevation, 5 crew (doesnt get 1 shotted like BTs). Not to mention steers better than BTs, which can be extremely difficult to handle at times.

Hey, Oddbawz! Your main criticism of this plane was that it was classed as a fighter, and so you couldn't bring out a fighter to clear the skies first. Now that it's been classed as a strike aircraft, and it's been moved down to 1.0, what do you think of it? I bet it could be deadly in combo with the float zero - you can spawn at the airfield and break your floats.

i personally prefure it over the M26, i the increased mobility is just better, but the turret speed is the best part. the HEAt-fs also makes it more useable in an uptier

The reason why the chi-he is 2.3 is because it has 50mm of armour and some 1.0 vehicles can't pen it frontally, same as the panzer IV F1, however why the chi-ha Kai is 2.0 I have no idea

Odd, I got a nice suggestion for ya. How about u play the Easy Eight, along with the F4U-4B? The Sherman is wonderful at 5.7 and the corsair has those juicy 20mm cannons to deal with panthers top down, plus it can carry 2 1000lbs bombs!
