In Brazil, back when we were children, we used to translate some of those phrases to something we could understand: Thus, tatsumaki sempuukyaku became "ataque das corujas" (owl attack), spinning bird kick was "sim, Dhalsim" (yes, Dhalsim!) and dosukoi became "cuscus" (couscous, a dish made of minced corn or wheat). It is really nice to learn what they really mean (though I always thought spinning bird kick was cyclone kick). Thanks for the video!

I was a local Arcade Champion. I rarely lost when I was at my peak around age 14-16. Any pinball or fighting game I could pretty much dominate once I got the hang of it. I remember when Mortal Combat was very popular. One night the Arcade was jam packed with teens. I had been playing vs challengers for 3 hours without losing. One salty kid drove to the mall to pick up a guy who worked at the Arcade there and was said to be the best in town. The guy showed up and people let him cut in front to take me down. Well, I mopped the floor with him 6 strait in a row with 40 people watching and cheering. I had the time of my life that night.

NESCAU? 😂😂😂 The special move of Guile, my favorite character, that he jumped with his kick, we also named here despite he actually saying anything. We here have a type of branded razor called Gilette. The cut Guile gives was so big that we called the Sommersault the aumentative of Gilette, Giletão (added by the fact that we as young people playing didn't wanted to use the weak or normal versions of the moves, ONLY the more powerful version that went faaaar high in the sky 😂).

I have a profound love of the Japanese culture, and I really love this! Back in the 90's there were tons of gaming magazines and one had an issue dedicated to Street Fighter that explained the moves from execution and name. And I won't even share my soramimi of what my brain tried to translate the sayings into! I have a friend that grew up in a rural prefecture and she was amazed at my anime collection and hadn't heard of any of them. Because we are good friends, I finally asked her if I my understanding of Japanese words were correct, and if I was pronouncing them correctly. What she heard and what I told her were the words and how they translated to English blew my mind! I ended up teaching her words and because I speak Spanish, the translation made more sense to her! She also ended up teaching me words that I never had even heard of! Thank you for this, and thank you for sharing your wonderful cutlure! Clicked and Subscribed!!!!

Not only, like her I can't hear that at all, besides the LA. The ''Boobs, line up'' is just too funny. That's official for me now. Raiden developed the technique during his teen years doing some less than ok stuff.

This video is very entertaining and you made it very interesting as well. The vibes, the highs, the excitement you got was very uplifting. I was kinda depressed right now and you cheered me up. Thank you.

Mortal Kombat is actually made by a Dominican who was just into japanese culture. So the words are spanish words like "ooo macha teta" thats oouu boob cutter and Baraka says it doing his special move. And raiden says the spanish name "juaquin Valaguer " when he does the flying tackle trick.

@@MrsEats 1) I've heard of Falun Gong (spelling? It's something I heard the CCP really hates because it became so popular they felt threatened, and they brutally suppress it now.) Are they related, or just similar word origin? 2) Yatta!? I always assumed/misheard her saying Aishta! or something like that. Since I actually know a little bit of Japanese, I thought she was saying a variant of aishiteru. Like telling the player I love you, or maybe since I knew it didn't exactly match what I knew it should sound like, a short form like just saying love it (winning).
