I am a chef here in Australia, watching you eat scallops. Here we import snap frozen japanese scallops and they are amazing. When they are fresh ( not cooked ) they have a purple roe and they are huge. Try and find some while you are in Japan, you wont be disappointed. Oh when they are cooked the roe turns from purple to normal orange roe colour.

you obviously don't know how expensive is the fresh unagi in japan, a small bowl of unagi rice will cost you somewhere around 3000 to 5000 yen, and the amount of unagi you get in those rice bowl is pretty much the same as what chonny got. so think again if you think 800 yen is too much
