I had a couple haircuts done when I was on business in Tokyo. They’re very meticulous in their cosmetology work. In the US they just try to hurry you thru like cattle. Of all my trips around the world Japan was one of my favorites. You said something about bigger girls in the US which is so true. You will rarely see obese women in Japan. It’s because the way they eat. They don’t rush their food.

Lived in China from 2000-2005. Getting haircut was at least an hour long, and all done by the same girl, no switching off. Shampoo massage, cut, head shoulder and arm message. All for about $30.

Been there and done that regards to Japanese girl dating. They can be very possessive. They do not like you having female friends. They never tell you they love you and if you're expecting her to say it all the time forget it. They show you by doing things for you. Be prepared for frustration.
