Wow! I gave birth to four children in America and never not once received this type of treatment! There would be no such thing as postpartum depression if all hospitals treated moms this way. I seen your other video saying you received an aroma therapy massage while you were there, the extended stay you had and all the great treatment and pampering you received and if that would happen in America we wouldn’t have tragic cases of mothers hurting their newborns due to postpartum depression. American hospitals and birthing facilities need to take notes! This is exactly how giving birth and how new moms should be treated. I don’t agree with not being allowed to have epidurals or pain management while in labor bcuz so many women lose their lives during birth bcuz it’s just too much pain for some bodies to handle but everything else looks amazing! Your a lucky girl!

Wow that all looked amazing. My partner was in the hospital here in the US for 3 months and his food certainly did not look anything like this. I don't think I'll show him this video or he'll be jealous :)

The food in this video is like a 5 Star gourmet restaurant! Unless you’re an extremely wealthy member of the elite, you’d never find anything close to this in US hospitals! I’ve been in and out of the hospital my whole life in the US, and the food was always absolutely awful, sometimes inedible. And I’m not a picky eater. The “best” tasting things tasted like a bland cheap frozen off-brand microwave meal, unless it was something like canned soup (which they likely watered down some) or name brand cereal that came in little individual packages. The worst was sometimes more comparable to dog food. I rarely ate much of what the hospital served, and would just bring my own things to the hospital to snack on. Now I don’t really have to worry about that aspect, as I now have a feeding tube, which is honestly a major plus not having to worry about forcing myself to eat awful hospital food anymore. I hope your partner is doing better! My longest stay was for 2 months, and that was rough! It was difficult to acclimate to being home and being in the outside world again. Everything felt so foreign!

Wow! Having just got out of the hospital here in the US (Atlanta) about 3 weeks ago for a surgery, the food here was comparatively awful (usually cold, bland, and just generally unappetizing -- and I'm not even a particularly picky eater). Your food looked AMAZING, on the other hand!

Hold it, NO EPIDURAL? We did lamaze and breathing exercises, because she wanted a "natural birth". A hour into active labor. . . "ummm where's the epidural?" You are a champ Loretta, especially w/o Boomer. Labor is aptly named. It's no joke. So happy that you had a positive experience. God Bless your family.

WOW!!! The Food was crazy! Much better then i get at home. BUT, I noticed you opted for NO Epidural - I know everyone's different but my Japanese wife wouldn't have "survived" the birth of our 3 kids without one.

Congratulations to your big beautiful family!! I opted for no epidural because I wanted a hospital that would allow my husband to be there but they changed the rules two weeks before I gave birth anyway... So it was all a crapshoot in the literal dark. Oh well! We made it! 🫣 Also, epidurals in Japan are nothing like in the west, it's not an add on to ease your currently underway labor, they force you into labor on a doctor's schedule, most of this pain being before said epidural. I didn't have the option but I still get furious thinking about how many times care and comfort only became available "if the doctor was there 9-5". It's like Japan never heard that babies are just not born that way.

Most women have babies in the middle of the night or early morning hours so that’s very weird. Everybody can’t have a natural birth and endure all that pain and some women have passed away during labor bcuz of the pain, actually many women have. I wonder why they don’t take that into consideration hmmmm. Is there a law that only limits women to give birth to only two babies in Japan? I heard something like this years ago and wondered if it’s still true.
