Ok so the other day (inspired by your videos) I went to the knitting section of my library... and check out this book 🤣. I haven't done much beyond flipping through the pages and looking at the pretty pictures, so thanks for the summary and for highlighting some tips - it was great! Also if you're new to stitch dictionaries my favourites are the Treasury of Knitting Patterns series by Barbara G Walker, you should see if they have them at your library :)
