I have tried an experiment with JKW by watering it with sugar water (water mixed with sugar). I have been doing this for about 10 weeks about 3 times a week. The Japanese knotweed has been attacked and eaten by ants and other UK insects.

Another way to save pounds and control knotweed is to eat it. The shoots are sweet, tangy like rhubarb and respond well to heat. I use them like asparagus in egg dishes, over pasta or baked into sweets.

earthsskin Yep, we are wasting time and money. This plant may save us from Lyme disease. The Roots are full of medicine!

You might do a research in my family town in Poland. For 30 years the knotweed there is self-contained on several 3x3 to 3x5 m patches on no proliferation occurs!

I reckon you can cover the area with a material that prevents light reaching the plant. Leave it for 4 years and the plant should have exhausted it completely and the microorganisms can consume it.

It certainly produces some aggressively successful species like Japanese knotweed.

How did it go with the bug?

Its still going through the trail stages at present however, the results look positive. We suspect however, it will be a good 5+ years yet before any large introduction.

Lemme save you 4 minutes. Knotweed is knot a problem. All you gotta do is get some garden variety scissors, cut it into manageable portions and roll it into an expansion joint. I won't lie, the only unmanageable thing about knotweed is how high it gets you when you smoke it down. It's the highest I've ever been, my mind snapped like a carrot. You know it's pure when you see those orange flecks. Just seconds after smoking a knotweed blunt I was flying high man, I started licking walls and eating dog food. When I came to I'd blown a load in my pants and had to throw out my boxers. Put me in a state of vegetative regeneration for a week. It was well worth the sacrifice

@@hoannguyen-re4zm I tell'ya man. The reason these "garden professionals" are getting us to destroy our knotweed is so they can shill us their booze, pills and liberal agenda. You'll never experience a cleaner, healthier or more intense spiritual experience than packing 10g's of knotweed into your "tobacco pipe" and burning it down till your eyes turn purple

how do roots get on your feet? the roots are under the ground, scaremongering again
@wiseknotweed6 жыл бұрын
Hi Terry, this is actually a common way for knotweed to spread. It grows on a lot of brownfield sites, river banks, railway sidings etc... so it is often is dug up and dumped when it is in the way. The rhizomes in the roots can easily get stuck in work boots as a result. A piece about the size of a fingernail can start a regrowth - it's a hardy plant. The BBC clip could perhaps have been clearer about this.
@terry41446 жыл бұрын
If, its dug up, even then very unlikely because the roots would have to be chopped up so small even then the roots would need to be buried for them to take
