Very nice guitar indeed. Great playing as always! Have an early model non ARE LS6 with rosewood back and sides. Love it. Bone nut, bone saddle and bridge pins. Sounds fantastic. Great review of a great guitar. I’ve had an LL16 for a few years, and just purchased an LL36. The 16 is a great guitar, but wow is all I can say about the 36. I’m looking to change out the bridge pins on the LL36. Would you recommend bone pins, or ebony? Also, do you know what size pins are used on the LL36?
@TheGuitarSpaSingapore

Any of the pins you’ve mentioned would be better than the stock plastic pins .. yes they LL36 Japanese made ones are way way better constructed and the sound is extremely refined
@mda2103
@mda2103 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, on my LS26 I have replaced the pins with these: Graphtech PP-1142-00. They are slightly too thick, so the pins stick out a bit higher than the plastic ones, but you can file them to be a bit thinner if you would want them lower. Anyhow that give an indication of the size, since you van find the dimension of the Graptechs on their website. Soundwise I am happy with these pins, the guitar sounds a bit darker and fuller than with the plastic pins.

Yes agree, Yamaha guitars have always got underrated. Especially the Japanese made one. if only people want to be more open minded to try those japanese made Yamaha's guitars. They will be blowned by the sound quality. And for the pricing it still falls under those overrated hype branded guitar in term of price to quality. By the way I have noticed a small dent near the pickguard 1:17 which will annoyed me if it was a brand new guitar :D

@@mxpoly1 So there was another Canadian reviewer who reviewed this line. His name is JP Cormier. He was saying that the reason why the 26, 36, 56 of the L series, is difficult to get is because they are only built when they are ordered. If you want one, I guess the only way is to order them direct from Yamaha. But my dream is either the 36 or the 56.

Hi Jarvis, what are your thoughts on how electronic hardware affects tone on acoustic guitars? Because of your great reviews I’m deciding between a Yamaha FG5, FGX5, FS5, FSX5, or an AC5R. Always interested in having an acoustic electric, but never ended up buying one. I don’t perform but would like to build up the courage to do open mic one day or maybe play in a band again though it’s been decades since I’ve done that. I’ve had an old beat up Yamaha dread that I grew up on (that I had awesome memories playing), moved to a Santa Cruz OM/PW (which I loved the sound but sold) now have a Baby Taylor (since moving abroad). Anyway, your thoughts on how electronic hardware affects tone would be great! Thank you!
