I don't know the stereotypes of foreigners' musical styles, but these are their established and belief styles. And it's not unusual or strange in Japan. The difference in taste is a personal matter, so it can't be helped.

Welcome to the world of VISUAL KEI (“Visual Style”), flamboyant guys (Glam Rockers on steroids) playing heavy music for mostly female fans. I’ll repeat my recommendation for THE GAZETTE - Filth in the Beauty. Also VERSAILLES (but a totally different sound). That said, DEVILOOF is the band you want (no cleans there). Today’s reaction confirmed my longstanding belief that heavy bands mix in clean vocals to appeal to female listeners.

To me it no different from American and European hair bands from the 80 dress and did make up like girls , but it a style for them to look femine and kick ass that what visual KEI, visual KEI is influences form the 80 hair bands.

I’m Japanese and I guess I need to let you know that they’re all STRAIGHT men. Our “ Visual Kei “ culture might be kinda hybrid of Glam/Sleezy/hair metal, New Romantics, Emo and goth, I’d say. Well, I’m happy to see you guys have been enjoying some metal acts from my mother country anyway. Keep up the good work! Cheers from the Far East, Tokyo 🇯🇵

Lol the main guy of the Japanese metal band is a guy, including all of them which they have different characteristics with features and style they use on their music and looking more like anime characters irl in some sort of way which is the reason why I love this band and Japanese metal in general 🖤🤘☠️

If you react to japanese metal bands, I recommend band The Gazette, really big and amazing band, they have many fans in whole world, they are just amazing, this is my favourite band ever. :) I would be happy if you will react to their song "Undying". But I'm not sure if it's for you, they mixed heavy and melodic sounds, their vocalist using growl/screaming and have amazing clean vocal. But I don't understand how you can like metalcome if you don't like when in one song are growls/screamings and clean vocals, it's often in metalcore, in deathcore also... Nevermind. ;) Oh, and they are Visual Kei band, like Dexcore, it's japanese music wave and subculture (in visual side it's make up etc, in musical some theatrical elements), almost all musicians in Visual Kei are guys, there are less women. Another band, also Visual Kei, I want to recommend is Matenrou Opera, they are symphonic/epic/power metal band, only clean vocal. :P Please react to song from their newest album, song title is "Masshiro na Yami ga Subete wo Nurikaete mo", but I send link to these, because it's all in japanese. ;) kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpfCi3V3qduMnck

Lol they're all males. This band is a Visual Kei, they're androgynous, only few women that I know from this style. Visual Kei doesn't only revolve in metal, they have idols and rapper too. You should have listen to Dexcore - Earthworm because it's their pure hardcore/deathcore song. Look I understand Dad is a deathcore fan, but daughter loves variety which I also love in metal/rock scene. GJ girl!🤘

With this band you are only one away from a Mount Rushmore of Japanese metal bands that should be on nobody's list (joining Nocturnal Bloodlust and Jupiter). I am praying you don't find the fourth. I will also repeat my rule of thumb for Japanese bands - if you have any doubt whether the band member is male or female, it is highly likely the person is male. As far as your rant about nobody should combine clean and harsh vocals, does that mean that you think Tatiana and Jinjer are crap? Tatiana is the master of switching from harsh to clean and back on a dime. The lyrics she writes perfectly fit that back and forth style. She is a brilliant lyricist. If you are a fan of Tatiana, how does that jibe with your rant?

I know dexcore and know that they not popular , what your opinions on one ok rock are they really big in Japan? , I mean by the live they seem to have the biggest crown and international wise more a bigger fan base that the others japanies band and on their chanel alone they have over 4 million sub, I love metal/ rock and one ok rock is more pop emo alternative but I enjoy them . Especially Thier earlier stuff.

I'm not a fan of Kagami cleans. Mixed vocals are fine, but he's a little too boy band for me. So, Earthworm by Dexcore has no cleans. It's my favourite, check that one. As for mixed vocals, Nazare and Dir en grey both do it better, their cleans are still unsettling and dark. Kagami is a great singer though. And I really like the contrast anyway, it's taking risks. Music is getting generic and genre is governing the music instead of the music setting new genres. At least Japan is messing with the tightness of the box.
