The translations you provide in this are similar to the scanlations that come out early, and usually the official is different. I appreciate you clarifying which is more accurate Also, no matter how long they take, we will always appreciate your videos :)

I support you! Keep going and you will get 100k subs in no time! I will watch every video :) I LOVE the language analysis and translation. “No Time” is an expression I have heard used in America to describe how a task, or a goal, may not necessarily take too many years to achieve. Just sharing my culture with you!

Oh, God, this chapter was so wholesome and heartwarming. I teared up. For good reasons this time, I promise. And this just makes the whole “Robin character development” meme even sweeter. The English translator was on a podcast, and he said he changed the wording to "I want to hear nice things" because just saying "please praise me" or "please compliment me" is far more blunt and unnatural in English than it would be to say in Japanese. kzbin.info/www/bejne/govHqWyNfa2LhKcsi=ZAkk6RTlXf2c2yXZ&t=5702 In English, Sousou no Frieren is translated as either "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" or "Frieren at the Funeral," but you can easily shorten it to "Frieren," and people know what you mean because the title is so unique.

For some reason, the English version of sousou no Frieren ignores the title entirely, calling it "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End." They just didn't want to try, I guess. 🤷🏼♀️

Your videos are ones worth waiting for! I would like your opinion about my thoughts here: I think we can expect a lot of futuristic tech from Elbaph "land of the past." But how about the more natural stuff? Vegapunk says that the island clouds on his island are only possible because of weather manipulation, but believes it could be done all over the planet some day. That, to me, indicates it WAS possible to make all these climate specific tools (wavers, painter, FLYING BOATS?? I feel like no one is talking about the flying boats enough) ALL over the planet. Was it the 200 meter sea rise that destroyed the climate in the other islands and Elbaph is so big it wasn't even affected? Or does it have to do with the Grand Line's weathers being so drastic? OP is very clearly talking about climate change here which is cool, I'm just very excited to see where he goes with it!

I’d be curious to know why the official translation seems more different from the original Japanese for this chapter. Stephen Paul usually does a really good job of preserving the original meaning way more often than not, so no disrespect to him or the official; it just seems farther apart from the intention of the original than usual so I wonder if there was something particularly challenging about this text As always thank you for all that you do and the great content!

"Praise me for surviving " sounds weird, don't you think?
@Ryquard1Ай бұрын
@@silenttakuzanot at all, it sounds ok, but my opinion comes from a bilingual person and also from someone that does not care about a word sounding religious, as praise in english is also used for religious stuff, in my language to praise is admire or congratulate. This chapyers the scans made a better job
@silenttakuzaАй бұрын
@@Ryquard1 yes, in English it does mean that in non-religious sense as well but I don't think any native English speaker would ask someone to "praise them". A child would probably ask their parents to tell them they are good. Things have to make sense culturally as well.

@@silenttakuza I think it’s the context - this is such a wildly dark situation that this sort of comment/conversation does not naturally occur regardless of language 😅 so that said, the saying nice things version rings as audibly odd as well as

I think Oda-sensai will use Saul to give a lot of information to us, in his effort to sprint towards the finish line of One Piece. What will be almost more interesting is what he doesn't talk about. Next issue could begin a multiple issue speech from Saul, very similar to Vega Punk's. Will someone attempt to silence him? Will it cost Saul his life like Clover and Vega Punk? In Norse Mythology Odin sacrifices his eye to Surtur to drink from a magic stream then hung himself on the World Tree, like Loki is now. I think Loki is missing an eye and he drank from some Magic Elbaf stream. He may also represent the dragon that, again in mythology, lives near the roots of Yggdrasil and attempts to destroy them.😊

A theory on Elbaf? I still personally think there's a connection between the Giants and Zunesha. If the Minks don't show up directly in the present time, I suspect we see something connecting them in a Flashback. Particularly related to the Void Century.

Thank You, @LunaPienArt - Japanese Translator !!! I finally understand... This chapter! It's beautiful! You made me understand a LOT better, Sensei-LunaPien. I LOVE all of your videos, but THIS ONE is one of the best! Sensei, I have a request.. I am slowly starting to learn Japanese, and LOVE the goroawase 語呂合わせ wordplay of Eiichiro Oda, and One Piece. I believe Dereshi will be important in the end of One Piece. What is the meaning of Dereshi? There are MANY translations. When I use Google Translate to investigate, I get MANY meanings, like the following: Dereshi: 出れシ "Get Out!" 出れし "Come Out!" 出れ市 "Dere City" ... "Get out, death," "Come out, death," "Get Out, City," AND "Come Out City." Even in English, these phrases have multiple meanings. My request is: Is any of this useful for making theories in One Piece?
