this was very cool. Im 47, my father died when I was 17, I dont remember him very much at all. (growing up he was always away at work) my mountain was dark, unclimbable, tho I didn't give up looking for my stone, it was easy to find after producing a torch, it was a diamond or some other white stone, maybe even a crystal, the size of my fist. Within the stone, I could see spots and flakes of brilliant blue. The rock was extremely heavy and hard to lift. The rock would have no value, until all of the stone was taken away, and you where left with the blue gems. As I reach the bottom of the mountain, I look back up and feel accomplished. I shout to the mountains “Goodbye, fair mountains!”, and the mountains reply by saying “goodbye, child.”

The mountain was tall with steep, jagged cliffs and was covered in snow and ice. I said to the mountain, "Wind to thy wings! Stay strong evermore!" (A parting meant to impart strength and good fortune.) The mountain replied, "God speed, child!" The strange thing for me is that my parents separated very violently when I was eleven and I haven't seen dad since, it's been over a decade. He was very distant and scary when I was little. I never said goodbye when my parents separated. Maybe this is my idealization of saying goodbye and wishing him the best of luck, and him wishing me to have a successful future...

I said "see ya!" to the mountain with a smile. The voice said "Huh, let's see how far you go". Sounds about right

The mountain: It's so large, and deep, waiting to be discovered. When I didn't find the stone: Return the next day The stone: Purple, small, shiny, rare, precious How I felt after the quest: Very happy, tired What I told the mountain: Good bye What it told me: Go in peace

It was a tall snow capped mountain and very wide. I camped out near the top. My stone was a egg sized diamond, with an unnatural blue glow and had no shape in particular. I said,” Gpod-bye Mother Nature! We will meet again!!” And I heard a reply, a deep calming and reassuring voice: “And so you will...”

I didn't have a great fatherly figure in my life but my idealization of the mountain was mesmerization, awe, and trust. It was towering. I never had special feelings toward him, or sympathy, so I'm wondering what I thought of the mountain really meant. I persisted in the mountain and when I found the stone, it fit perfectly in the palm of my hand, it was smooth, dark grey. It had some special symbols that I didn't understand, but I knew it was special. It may have not been a diamond but it had a deeper meaning.
