The best way to draw anime illustrations is to learn from a japanese illustrator, they have a lot of tricks no overseas illustrator could teach.

i like your point, but this way of drawing of using a rough sketch is a very common teaching by teachers in the west. there are probably alot of tricks that only japanese artists do know, but this aint one of them

Andrew Loomis, Burne Hogarth, Steve Huston and Vilppu would like to answer that call. Don't forget that the godfather of Manga thanked Carl Barks' Donald Duck comics as the gateway that lead him into making manga. All the way down to paneling motif's you can find inspiration from Carl Barks. Japanese artists like Akira Toriyama, Osamu Tezuka, Kunio Okawara credit their works and inspirations from coming American work. Sadly, American animation and artwork has gone down hill in recent years with few examples being outlier. Thankfully, a lot of the new generation of Japanese artists are keeping that light and DNA of American artistry alive, even if they don't realize it

描いてる時は姿勢も大事ですね、子どものときは特に紙に近付きすぎて描いちゃうから。引きの意識大事。

Thanks bro just watching you draw alone increased my skill by 1%
It's great to see an art video more tailored towards beginners as well! I've drawn for a bit, but I think I too can improve with these tips! I wonder if professionals find these tips helpful as well, or if they already know amd apply them!

Saito-sensei is truly bold and fearless. Drawing a kid's picture on camera as a professional illustrator. Taking these shameless selfies and not even blush a bit. What superpower is this? 😆I bow deeply. Never change, sensei! ❤
I wish I had access to the kind of advice you are giving to younger artists when I started out, and I thank you for being such an inspiring beacon of guidance that these young ones can learn from in order to become leading figures of the industry in the future.

I’m a native English speaker, and don’t know how this made it into my recommendations, but I am thankful for English captions. There is much value in the tip “when you make a mistake with a brush pen, it doesn’t look like a mistake”

I was feeling kind of restless and insecure about my drawing skills, despite being intermediate but these tips are so practical and helpful. Sometimes as an artist you get caught up in different rules and details and forget to take a step back and look at your situation in a more realistic and practical way. Thank you for this video :3
