TATA cars aren't suited for Japanese consumers. Japanese market is full of kei cars, but the only small car made by TATA failed in India. TATA makes some of the nicest SUVs though....

Tata's owners are inherently capitalistic with a sympathy-driven ethos aside from money. Although at a certain time (during the prime minister Nehru's times), many things were taken away by the govt due to Nehru's distrust in private companies (he was a commuist after all), but they still managed to make an empire. Ratan Tata (the current CEO) is a very respected man and a humble one too! Indian billionaires come in many forms, and this one is the most influential in a good way.

TATA is synonymous to trust (people trust). In business if they put their hand in anything the end result is always good. They live by the principle of being useful to the people of country they operate in. They dont operate businesses for just profit, this is evident from the fact that 66% of Tata group is owned by a charitable trust. This trust mostly works on health, education and scientific development along with solving problems of the world by being an angel investor for startups.

Did you know that our Flagship Airliner - AIR INDIA was started by TATAs. It was kinda later taken over by the government (Before Modi) and was left neglected ever since. This year, the TATAs came to AIR INDIAs rescue and won the bid to take over completely. Including its massive debt (due to corrupt Govt's negligence that ruled for more than 50 years). Did you also know that SINGAPORE AIRLINES took its inspiration from AIR INDIA under TATAs.
