Probably one of the most recorded and played songs by many artists over the last 104 years! I love it.

If you mean very out of tune then yeah it's very out of tune xD Interestingly enough this is a Steinway (no wonder it sounds subpar)

(Here you go, if I remember it correctly lol) Won't you stretch imagination for a moment and come with me. Let us hasten to a nation lying over the western sea. Hide behind the cherry blossoms Here's a sight that will please your eyes. There's a lady with a baby of Japan, singing lullabies Hear her as she sighs... Here's a Japanese Sandman sneaking on with the dew. Just an old second-hand man, he'll buy your old day from you. He will take every sorrow of the day that is through. And he'll bring you tomorrow, just to start a life anew. Then you'll be a bit older in the dawn when you wake. And you'll be a bit bolder in the new day you make. Here's a Japanese Sandman, trading silver for gold. Just an old second-hand man trading new days for old. Then you'll be a bit older in the dawn when you wake. And you'll be a bit bolder in the new day you make. Here's a Japanese Sandman, trading silver for gold. Just an old second-hand man trading new days for old. Just as soon as we arrived we'll leave the land of the painted fan. Wander lightly or you'll wake the little people of old Japan. May repose and pleasant dreaming Be their share while the hours are small. Like an echo of the song I hear the Japanese Sandman call. New days near for all! (And here's an alternate version I also remember) Won't you stretch imagination for the moment and come with me. Let us hasten to a nation lying over the western sea. Hide behind the cherry blossoms Here's a sight that will please your eyes. There's a baby with a lady of Japan, singing lullabies. Night winds breathe her sighs... There's the Japanese Sandman. Coming on with the dew Just an old second-hand man, he'll buy your old day from you. He will take every sorrow of the day that is through. And he'll bring you tomorrow, just to start a life anew. Then you'll be a bit older in the dawn when you wake. And you'll be a bit bolder in the new day you make. There's the Japanese Sandman, trade him silver for gold Just an old second-hand man trading new days for old. Then you'll be a bit older in the dawn when you wake. And you'll be a bit bolder in the new day you make. There's the Japanese Sandman, trade him silver for gold. Just an old second-hand man trading new days for old. Just as silent as we came, we'll leave the land of the painted fan. Wander lightly or you'll wake the little people of old Japan. May repose and pleasant dreaming Be their share while the hours are small. Like an echo of the song I hear the Japanese Sandman call. New days near for all! (And that's about it lol)

Thanks for posting this Aeolian version of this! I don't know who "Mander" or "Mander" or "Maunder" was, but could "Morton" have been George Morton, who made many rolls for the Standard company in New Jersey in the early 1920s? (on the Arto, Voco, and SingA labels, for example). I don't know much else about him.

I suspect "Morton" was "Jelly Roll" Morton, who made many jazz Piano Rolls during that era. Cheers.

@@brentcoombs5293 Nope, that's not him, he recorded only a select few rolls for Vocalstyle and QRS and that was it. He NEVER arrange for Duo-Art or really any other company doing anything other than his own tunes.
