I'm not even Shinto, but I'd die to visit every shrine in Japan! They're just so beautiful and peaceful...

@kmah88 Thank you for the suggestion. I am not sure that I will get around to it though. If you use Visualsubsync or somesuch software to make closed captions I'll correct and add them.

Other than the omikoshi vs. "ark of the covenant" similarity, what is the evidence?
@nihonbunka12 жыл бұрын

Buddhism may be rather different; a world religion, whereas with few exceptions, Shinto (this shrine visiting religion) exists only in Japan or where there are Japanese (Brazil, Peru, Hawaii.)

I could well believe it because a lot of Japanese things originate in Korea or on the tairik, I mean continent.

Dede Great I think we all have others in or mind, acording to people like George Herbert Mead, Philippe Rochat, Sigmund Freud, Kitarou Nishida. The latter claims that there is something devilish about the othe in all people. In Freud too the other is taboo or scary. If this were not the case then we'd become conscious of the other and be unable to remain split. The split is alas normal though "sinful" (Christianity, Islam)"impure" (Shinto), "unelightened," Buddhism.

Dede Great The gods of Shinto are in your park. Find the most beautigul natural feature. Go there, wash your hands, and wrinse out your mouth with water, bow deeply twice, clap at chest level twice, and bow deeply again. That is about it, or all I know.

So you believe in a conspiracy of silence on the Christian origins of Japan. What difference would it make?
