They might wrap everything in plastic, but that plastic is more voluminous and lighter campared to for example American plastic, meaning they use less. Also since Japanese separate trash very religiously they are able to recycle most of that plastic.

Hi Eunice. The CC essence is like a brightening serum. Don't be intimidated by the oily consistency. It dries down to a natural finish. Great for lightening hyperpigmentation, one.of the best actually. Definitely worth a try.

Melano CC is like one of the best seller in Japan esp the small tube… it’s vitamin C serum and they made it such a way that u only able to squeeze exactly the right amt each time without allowing any light to get into the rest of the serum and oxidise the formula… so it will be fresh till the last drop 😊

Ahh I have to get dragged out of the drug stores 😂 Matsumoto Kiyoshi also has a great selection (at the larger shops)! I looooove that I can get the majority of my fave k-skincare while testing different j-skincare in the same shopping trip, If it helps, the prices: upper is before tax, bottom is after tax (the actual amount to be paid). Consumption tax is 10% nationwide I believe...

Eunni Unni, about the Elixir line from Shiseido and other Japanese skincare brands as well, I am not sure if you are aware that they classify the milk (their word for emulsion) as types 1, 2, and 3 (1 for oily skin, 2 for normal and dry skin, 3 for very dry skin). The word 'lotion' is very deceptive in Japanese skincare lingo, because it is their version of toner or skin in Korean skincare. The 'lotion' you applied is probably a toner product at type 2 or so, since that is actually very much viscous as it is. To reduce confusion next time, ask the staff if they have 'sapari' (refreshing type), ''shittori' (moisturising), or 'toh-day-mo shittori' (ultra Moisturizing) according to your skin type or demands.
@artjen996 ай бұрын

What I remember about the Japanese drugstore culture for skincare and haircare is that the haircare products were so bewildering in variety, and more expensive than in Korea and North America, but the haircare was just so elegant. Washed off without stripping the hair or scalp, and really left it feeling so smooth.....omg.....The skincare can vary though in quality. They sell SK-II even in the pharmacies or drugstores.

OH my goodness! My happy place. Actually, shopping in Japan in general makes me feel great joy and contentment. You missed out on one of my favourite cleansers as you browsed around the 5:26 mark. I kept wincing playfully at the screen thinking, 'girl it's RIGHT BEHIND YOUR HAND! Put down the Bifesta and grab the Acnes Mentholatum gel cleanser instead!' Hahaah! It doesn't leave skin tight and uncomfortable but cleanses really effectively and has the most addictive lemonade scent too. Loved this video. Thank you for not zooming around like so many people do and actually allowing the frame to linger on shelves so we can all see the stock selection and price tags too. Can't wait to return to Japan later this year. 🥰

Actually the CC product (packaging look alike HadaLabo), the one you’ve tried on your hand was a vit C serum. I’ve been using it for months now and it’s so good. The product is a little bit hard to come out because of the packaging but I don’t really mind because the packaging really keeps the product inside fresh and not-oxidized
@beyobestbeauty2 жыл бұрын
Also I saw the Elixer later in the video so I had to mentioned it- I'm not sure if you already left Japan- but if you get the chance you should totally try out that new Elixer Lotion and Emulsion! Shiseido did a lot of research about collagen production and those 2 products have ingredients that are supposed to help increase collagen production while helping to decrease the rate that existing collagen is broken down AS WELL AS decreasing the rate at which skin thickens - which happens over time- and helps to prevent the thickening of the skin so that ingredients can be better absorbed into the skin. I have a 7 day sample kit at home I can't wait to use (for more than 7 days lol)
