@@KunjaBihariKrishna very true, i used to game with a group who were mostly japanese. They seemed really nice till i noticed the out humbiling each other bit. Like the girls constantly showing photos of themselves while saying how they are so under weight and should gain more when they received compliments. When in reality they look completely fine and actually never try to gain weight, they always talked about diets in private. And the guys were constantly giving 'gifts' to the girls while saying how its fine that they made more then enough money for it but im private they would make fun of those who didnt make as much money as them. Then someone else actually translated some of their conversations that were in japanese and turned out they were always trash talking the american gamers. Could have just been that group in pacticular but from my experience it seems to be the norm.

Kenjutsu nowadays, beside being part of the self-defense martial arts, it is a "sport" that strengthen your mind and your body, while giving you more control on your body while perfoming precise techniques. As you can see from their comments during this video, they enjoy performing both eccentric and elegant movements. They do not need or think to live in a chaotic world because they will "actually" use their skill. Nowadays kenjutsu is more a picturesque sport.

I love that just by swinging a katana it looks like it's about to snap into four thousand pieces.

Correction, you thrust with the sword flat to increase stability in the thrust. If a thrust is done with the blade vertical. It has a lot of side to side veriation. Horizontally the blade has more up and down variation. Making it easier to control the stike.

I love this video. I am not a video game player or fan but I am an ex martial arts instructor & always loved Samurai movies. You guys did a great job recreating the game scenes. I would definitely watch a live movie of this game. 🇬🇧👍

4:51 He did a spinning hook kick rather than a spinning mule kick, if that makes any sense. You guys are great swordsmen though, so don't get me wrong- 9:29 the running slash actually looks kinda sick I gotta admit.

now to be fair, when someone's name contains "Kobayashi" they kind of win by default and you are only allowed to lose

I've always wondered about chiburi, but never knew it was an actual technique with a name until now. It's been a question that I've never seen an answer to for a few months, and googling "chiburi" made me realize the amount of questions I could have put in to find the answer.

To be fair all the moves are motion captured and have experts performing these movements. Thus it was very possible to recreate each one. Given a master performed it to make it possible. Yet solid job on the recreations of it.

I find it difficult to imagine during the samurai era swordfights such as the ones depicted in the video game really happen. I mean, I was a infantry medic, can you imagine the kind of injuries sustained with big slashes of the katana hitting flesh and bone. Limbs will be almost or totally severed, blood splattering the grounds, a good strike to the head will see half the brains fly meters away. The mental stress of facing your enemy in a duel to the death where one wrong move decides who lives and who dies. Damn!
