Where can we get JIS 1/4” bits? Thanks. Great tool haul!!
@chriscas-ToolAficionado4 жыл бұрын
Hi Emilio. I had a conversation with a Vessel representative a decade ago, and at the time most Japanese screwdriver/bit manufacturers had been producing their tools in compliance to international DIN/ISO standards. In the case of screwdriver/bit manufacturing, that produces a higher quality product than what would be produced by conforming to JIS standards. If you REALLY want a JIS-conforming screwdrivers/bits, I think you'll have to look for NOS (new old-stock).

Those stickers look grate definitely worth putting a order in just for those. Plus I been waiting to try some Japanese impact sockets.
@chriscas-ToolAficionado4 жыл бұрын
No shortage of Japanese manufacturers to choose from, which makes it a bit harder. There's the usual Big-3, but there's also FPC (Flash Tool), Mitoloy, and Asahi to check out as well.

Nice video, as always! I’m gonna start ordering more Japanese tools to replace my US and Taiwanese tools, slowly. Got a jump start living there. Finally found the other Tone Switch Ratchet wrenches to complete the collection I started on Amazon.co.jp. Might order them while my wife is still over there and has Prime, then get one of my base buddies to ship them over. Also need a 8x10 Extra Long Megane Wrench from KTC to finish that line out. Have you ordered from Frank’s tools? I may have asked that before. Prices aren’t bad but after living over seas the selection seems so limited, lol.
@chriscas-ToolAficionado4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I have ordered from Frankstools on two or three occasions, all several years ago. Just be cautious about getting something he doesn't have in stock, as it could take a long time before you get your stuff. My advise would be to check whether he has what you're looking for in stock. He seems to have just revamped his e-store (finally!): frankstools.site

I think it’s so funny thing. I want to have more German maker tools such as Wera, and Milwaukee, DeWalt, Makita USA version and Ryobi. So I want to import overseas model, but you guys want to buy Japanese maker’s tools. I should start import and export tools company, how did you think? I already said Japan Post is dead now, so when the time to recover Japan Post, I am getting ready for establish a company. Hahaha.

I’ve had the Annex bits not release in my drills. Both my Milwaukee impact and Drill driver can’t use them. How do I know they are compatible?
@chriscas-ToolAficionado4 жыл бұрын
You gotta pay attention to the location of the machined groove. In Japan it's typically 13mm for power bits, whereas in most parts of the world it's 9mm. The ones I got have two grooves (both 13mm and 9mm locations). What you can do is grind them down to fit. I've done that and find the fitment to be excellent.
@needsrepair4 жыл бұрын
It depends on how and which type of bits you want to use, in Japan we call “Anvil”, you can change this anvil then Annex or Japanese bits you can use. In case, I am writing the URL below. paypayfleamarket.yahoo.co.jp/item/514796983?cpt_s=payf&cpt_m=share&cpt_n=item&cpt_c=ios This is for Makita. Or there is some changing adapter in Amazon. I hope you would understand what I say.

I'm really starting to get into KoKen tools. I have been wanting to order from Deentools.com but for some reason their checkout is never working for me. bummer.
@needsrepair4 жыл бұрын
Japan post is dead now, I have sent some Makita items to my US friend. But the Japan post said they accepted only real ship shipment. So it will take 2-3month. Of cause the shop chooses DHL, fedex or some such logistics, you will soon get your item but now we all have big Colona virus problem, maybe Deen maybe stop shipping to overseas now. I am not sure, but the Colona makes us so much problem, I am sure.

David, email Mr. Yoshimoto (yoshimoto@f-gear.co.jp) with the part # and quantity you're interested in. He will provide a quote with shipping cost based on your shipping destination. Hope that helps.

@@needsrepair I bet the shipping cost is a huge factor too. I checked into shipping 1 pair of pliers to Japan and it was going to cost me over $200 U.S. dollars. But yes COVID is a problem for everyone.
@chriscas-ToolAficionado4 жыл бұрын
@@davidmccord6555 $200 for a pair of pliers is insane! For reference, my 8lbs box cost 9,720 yen, but i used a "first time user" type coupon to bring it down to 6800 yen.
