I find it quite cool to see Samurai not depicted like basically anywhere else, with just a Katana. As far as I know it's also much more historically accurate to see a Samurai go into battle with a spear. Swords were mostly just backup weapons. Bit of a shame they gave us no archer unit tho. The Japanese Yumi is a very iconic weapon.

They are a new unit yes, supposedly they'll be acquirable from the unit tree as next season will be having 6 new units rather than the usual 3, the three seasonal units Evo talked about and the Mace Sergeants, Naginata Monks (which are a merc unit unfortunately) and the Matchlock Ashigaru (which weren't been released on PTR). Unfortunately theres no knowing of which tree the Mace Sergeants will be to get them but likely the Chivalry tree as it makes the most sense.

@@Animeman284 It's such a bitch move to make iconic Warrior Monks a premium unit, and apparently they will cost 3,200 sovereigns / 2,000,000 silver which is just outrageously much. For example, Sea Stag Death Dealers cost 2,900 sovereigns but only 700,000 silver. So the Naginata Monks should not be more than 775,000 silver or so either, since the sovereign cost is only marginally higher.

I am genuinely happy they didn't just make the tier 4 and 5 units a bracing anti cav. "Look at this new unit that does everything the Modao does, does it the same way but better". In fact, Modao and Fortes are still the bracing anti-cav units of the game, whereas the Onha-musha and the Orochi Samurai have their anticav aspect by timing their abilities. It's the same general idea as the IPG Advance- a strong anti cav ability but it is slow and as such must be timed or the cav will bugger off and then get in once your advance is done.

If you quit the game because you had issues with it on a fundamental level, don't come back. Nothing has changed. Balance is still a shitshow, new units still overperform - currently for example the Season 15 Cavalry unit is on a rampage in every match. But if you were just burnt out by the game but still like it in general, giving it another shot might be worth it. Worst case you uninstall it after a day.

Haven't played in a long time, but I just can't help checking out new units. Really wish there was a different, actually balanced, game where you can control units like you do in this game. I also think a fully armored samurai unit would definitely work if they worked like the Berserkers.

I' m stoked for this season been waiting a long time to have a Japanese season. I'm especially excited to play the Onna-Musha. I hope the mace sgts. are mini version of what Tseregs should have been. One thing look at how random, laggy, broken and shitty the Yanyuedao cavalry programming/animations are. @8:33. That unit needs to be taken away until it is fixed, it has ruined so many of my games going right through braced pikes or stalwarts.

Its a big joke to the Elite samurai with yari of the Sengoku Jidai : die very easy vs cavalry , the devs need to put a skill for brace like modaos because this unit are designed in the history for keep the defensive block of the formations mainly vs charge of cavalry & infantry. Good test we have time for get updates.

I like the general idea to require good timing for most of their anti-cavalry burst. Good to see not yet another brainless unit. But currently the balance seems off. To trade favourably against cavalry they need great timing, and if you mess that up they get absolutely obliterated even by t4 cav. That's a big joke for a t5 "anti-cav" unit that sucks against anything that's not cavalry. It's okay if they suck against most infantry, but then they need to be exceptionally good against cavalry or else I can't see why you would waste 300 leadership on them.

If you are going to start, try at the start of the season. There is a "lock" system that wont allow high level players (and even you) to use "Golden" units vs Blue at the start of the season. And since is easier to farm exp while on low levels, you can try to catch up with then. Yes, you wont be super strong, but you can put up a chalenge if you learn how to play.

If you want to start playing, start now, as the game gives mandatory bot matches for low lv players, I don't remember if it's until lv 60 or 100, you will not face "actual people", essentially an "easy mode" period to start learning the game mechanics, during this time you should try to level up your character as slowly as possible to make this "grace" period las as long as you can so you can unlock the "desired" seasonal units more easily, the reason to not start playing at the start of the new season but the end of the current season is because this way you can use the full t3 lock period, extending the "easy" period to unlock seasonals, because when the t4 or t5 come to play, the game gets a lot more difficult for new players as they will face maxed high tier units that are very strong, max lv high tier units are much stronger than their not leveled counterparts

Onna-Musha counter Cavalry is a jokes, no brace or specific formation making them more likely reskin of Fenrir with a pike. Eternal season everyone 100% Cresent Monk and 500% Longbow, im guessing this Season gonna be 500% Onna and 1000% Chevalier+Corssbow time. They should release Samurai Gunner, Samurai Cavalry and Ninja unit.

Correction onna musha don't use a glaive but it's a Naginata some kind of a katana on a stick since they do slash not stab like an ordinary spear

That's like saying "The Samurai are not using a sword but a Katana!". Glaive is the European equivalent to a Naginata, both are single-edged polearms.

Onna-Musha finally the Gozen family female warriors 💓 still wondering why they pick Sanada-clan & Tokugawa-clan as representative in this Japanese season. There are many other famous clans like Shimazu, Oda, Uesugi & Takeda. No complains tho since I like the Sanada-clan distinct samurai helmet deer's antler design. no Yari-wall formation 🙁

I'm hoping this brings me back. I have had the issue last season that even when I do well and I FEEL like I am enjoying the game, I seem to not feel like playing another match afterward. I don't really know what it is. Maybe it is that heroes have way too much agency compared to what they used to be then. Maybe it is that things die just way too quickly and a slight mistake can ruin your whole unit. Maybe it is the other players that make me not want to play. I don't know. Even with the issues League of Legends has (which is a LOT now), I weirdly feel like playing that more than CB. That's a game that I can not enjoy the match and still want to play another afterward. Season 7 of CB is what really sucked me into the game. Maybe it is overbloated now. I possibly just moved on from the game, but the LoL example feels like that isn't an excuse to be made. I'm curious on what other vets feel about the state of the game now as I hope that they can clear up on why I feel like staying away from the game. I do know that the devs have been trying a lot more compared to Season 7. Maybe it is possible that the content has been pushed out much quicker than the devs have increased their transparency/balance changes. Either way, this game has no equal in it's genre. If this game dies, I feel like the genre itself will then fade away. That's something I hope to not see. TLDR; I don't feel like playing anymore and I don't know why. It is possibly because of other players, but I also want to hear their opinions. It is maybe because of bloated content and the devs not being able to keep up with balancing. I'm hoping it thrives and I want a reason to come back for myself as well.
