Japanese is so very hard. I wonder if learning English was just as hard as it is for english-speakers to learn Nihongo? How long did it take you to learn how to speak English-fluently. And what were the motives, tips, and tricks you used to facilitate something so arduous? I will learn Japanese or die learning.

It's true that learning any new language can be a big challenge. For me, learning English took several years, and it was a gradual process. Motivation was key; I wanted to connect with people and cultures beyond my own. Being in an English-speaking environment has been the most helpful. Listening to native speakers a lot lets me grasp the nuances and natural flow of the language. Your determination to learn Japanese is inspiring. The road is long, but every step you take makes a difference. Best of luck on your Japanese learning journey. You can do it! 😊✨

@@JapaneseEveryday Ahhhh, I see... I should connect more to with Nihonjin people to learn more about the culture and of course make friends. I am grateful for youtube and my textbooks Like: Genki volume 1 and 2, Seiichi Makino, and Michio Tsutsui yellow ,and blue books; however i feel i am finally able to grasp the words in reading rather quickly, but the listening part is the real challenge. Sensei, thank you for the insight. Several years isn't so long when one is an adult. Thank you for giving me hope and inspiriting by enouraging edification. Ahhh! Sensei, one last question, excuse my forwardness, but please indulge me yet again. Of all the mediums which would you recommend for accurate and natural usage of Nihongo: J-Pop, Japanese Movies, or anime? I listen to the news in Japanese sometimes but i'm afraid it is too much in teineigo? I want the most natural sounding medium in which portrays everyday conversation between people in normal settings. Thank you so much, Sensei.

To answer your question, each medium has its merits. J-Pop can be useful for learning modern slang and colloquial expressions, while movies often capture the nuances of everyday conversations. Anime can be a fun source, but be cautious as it sometimes uses exaggerated or stylized language that may not be applicable in everyday situations. Listening to news in Japanese can be tough and their vocabulary are not always like everyday conversations. You may find that dramas or movies offer a more relatable way to grasp everyday talk 😊✨ Keep up the good work, and don't hesitate to reach out with more questions. Listening comprehension often takes time to develop. Consistent exposure to spoken language will eventually makes Japanese learning easier. Happy Japanese learning! 📚🇯🇵

@@JapaneseEveryday Thank you so much, Sensei, for you helpful reply. I definitely will utilize what you have recommended. I have started listening to J-pop, but I used to listen to it sometimes before, now? - not so haphazardly. I love the song from Dragon Ash at the end of Battle Royale, the song always makes me wistfully nostalgic. And With dramas I will find some interesting ones. But I love watching Japanese horror movies and gangster movies. Takeshi Kitano is so cool! Incidentally he was in Battle Royale, aforementioned. But I love his Yakuza movies! Thank you again for offering help, I will try not to impose on you too much with my incessant questions, as I am really inquisitive yet also obtuse hahaa. Take care Teach'! また ね

@@alfjones6377 You're very welcome! I'm glad to hear you're diving deeper into Japanese culture through music, dramas, and movies. Takeshi Kitano is indeed a multifaceted talent, and his work in Yakuza movies is iconic. The song from Dragon Ash does capture a particular emotion, doesn't it? Don't worry about imposing with your questions; that's what I'm here for! Being inquisitive is a great trait, especially when you're exploring a new culture or learning a new language. Feel free to reach out anytime you have questions or need more recommendations. Take care and またね 😊✨
