I'm still here. Granted this is two years later lol. But I have recently ( god knows why lol ) taken an interest in learning Kanji. The whole thing is pretty confusing imho, but these videos helps me along. I got the basics of Hiragana and Katakana down for the most part thanks to this Channel. Japan is on my top list to visit. I am slowly learning how to type things out on an American keyboard, but wanted to get physical first. I only recently took an interest in wanting to learn Japanese. edit: April 18th 2023: so here I am 8 months later according to my comment.... yea, I kinda gave up Japanese in that time frame.. I think it is mainly because of Kanji and it being difficult and confusing to me. I think I can understand Hiragana and Katakana to a degree, plus they're way more simpler imo. looking to go to Japan for the first time in 2025 ( either during Cherry Blossom, or Winter ) dunno yet. In the meantime, am learning Japanese once again and have gotten to this video, albeit, I stopped here and there for a few days due to irl. But here I am, back for round 2. I am planning on flying solo ( unless a family member comes with me ) so far I have been learning Japanese, and am planning on saving money pretty soon. Cant wait to go. it will be my first Asian country to visit. Only ever been to England. anyways, keep up the videos. Respect from America.

A lot. But the Japanese learn 2136 kanji in school. That’s know as the Jōyō Kanji or “general use kanji”. It’s what is necessary to read a newspaper in Japan. If you want to read books, then you should learn a couple thousand more if I’m not mistaken.
