I love Fukui, I lived there for four months many years ago as a missionary. This video was great but could’ve included several other incredible places like Eiheiji and Tojinbo

One of the most nostalgic parts of the video were the bird sounds at the crossings!

Fukui looks really cool. Thanks for sharing less well know places with us. What I love in Japan, is the love for details - in museums, gardens, food, accommodation etc. This was shown on every place you visited in this short trip to Fukui.

Fukui is quite the hidden gem, It's often overlooked there between Kanazawa and Kyoto, but it has lots to offer - not only the beautiful places you showed but many other places, too. Surely worth another video or two :) I still remember I was in Fukui when the new Hokuriku Shinkansen opened the route to Kanazawa. Getting the Shinkansen all the way to Fukui felt like ages away. Now it's finally there! I'm looking forward to my next trip there for sure 🙂

It's a small prefecture, and is clearly split between its northern part and its southern part--very different cultures. It's like the place doesn't really 'cohere' like some other prefectures do. Overall, Ishikawa is more interesting. But it's nice to do the two prefectures together on a trip.

Holy cow dinosaurs. That looked so awesome. I heard about the Shinkansen going there and I thought this would be an awesome place to try and get back to. I've only been to the beaches in the south. I had no idea about the dinosaurs. And considering what I've seen you guys eat over the past few years...hearing the words "this is the best meal of my life" isn't something I take lightly...it means Fukuii is jumping way up the list of places I must go... Crab is so good ...

please also visit Eiheiji Temple if you're headed to Fukui. It's a large temple construction with dozens of buildings. Just don't take pictures of monks if you go there

It's not that far from Ichijodani, and you can get to both places by highway bus from the Fukui station.

Nice place. The museum is great, even for someone like me who isn't a dinosaur fan. Eiheiji also has some tourists, but Heisenji Hakusan and the Great Buddha were mostly empty. The only issue is that I needed a car. Even without shinkansen, Fukui is a nice day trip between Kanazawa and Kyoto.

Hi!! :D Unfortunately we could not cover all the beautiful spots in Fukui in just this 2 day trip (otherwise it would be too fast pace ahah). Definitely in a future video though! We do have info on all the popular sightseeing spots in Fukui on our website though: www.japan-guide.com/e/e6600.html -Charly

That comes and goes here. If you get it, go to a local clinic, they give you antibiotics in a drip. It's gone in hours. But best to get the IV for several days in a row to be sure.

Isn't Fukui known as the rudest city of Japan?! Not meant it as anything rude but most people go to be treated badly, That's what I was told by one of my friends
@TheZenomeProject

I imagine that what is considered rude to Japanese is almost comically polite everywhere else.

People in Fukui City can be kind of dark sometimes. Not friendly. I think the local politics are not so nice to a lot of people. The smaller cities like Takefu, Sabae, Ono etc. are often friendlier.

Love this video espesially about Dino Museum. It would be amazing if you mentioned the price of the food, train tickets, entrance tickets and some souvenirs there. You know, so some of your loyal viewers can prepare how much to spend while traveling there Peace from Tochigi

Thank you so much for your nice comment, glad you enjoyed the video! Good point about the prices, however we avoid putting them in our videos because prices change very often and we cannot update the content of a video... However we do keep all the prices and transportation fares up to date on our website. Here is a link to the Fukui page where you can find all the detailed information: www.japan-guide.com/e/e6600.html
