Aachen, my home town, does indeed have a beautiful, historic old town. The Christmas market is also well-known far beyond the borders of Aachen. I was always very happy when people from far away visited my city. Unfortunately, this is no longer so charming today. When I still enjoyed visiting this city and the Christmas market, this market was always very, very crowded, people were laughing boisterously and drinking mulled wine. The traders looked forward to this time all year and did good business. But back then, you weren't locked up at the Christmas market either, you were actually allowed to walk in the fresh air without a mask and society wasn't as divided as it is today....

I found the city of Aachen through one of my favorite artists (singer). I was so looking forward to visiting Aachen in 2022 to specifically go to the Christmas Market. I doubt that will happen now but I can hope.

I obsessed about Europe Christmas market so much that made my heart restless. I went to Germany Christmas market in 2018 by river cruise, but it has only limited time to walk through each one of them. I will put Aachen in my bucket list.
