Started taking this stuff about 8 or 9 months ago. Just got my blood work back and the results were anything but reassuring. My blood work shows a change in kidney function. I will have to get more tests done. We looked into the possible side effects, and lo and behold kidney failure is one of the possible dangers of this drug. I wish I had never heard of Jardiance. How much are the drug companies paying doctors to write prescriptions for this?

Most drugs are garbage either don't work and or have terrible side effects. They work very well for the manufacturers bottom line tho. Doctors brainwashed that is the only way. Try a Keto or Carnivore diet and you will be amazed! When diagnosed mu blood sugar was 500 and my A1C 11.5. Today blood sugar averages 98 and A1C around 5.6. Just metformin to get rid of and I'm in remission. Good luck to you!

My doctor prescribed this medication but I’m already taking ozempic to lower A-1C. I don’t see the need for another medicine! Now I need a pill for my kidneys so what good is this?

Beware of these drug company influencers! I went on the drug 10 milligrams of empagliflozin, what I got was ringing in my ears, twitching in my body, disturbing stressful thoughts and insomnia. I stayed on the medicine because it was lowering my blood glucose about 10% without diarrhea. I was well hydrated but I could no longer handle the negative psychological effects of this drug. I went off the medicine for about two days and I felt so much better,I was able to sleep again. I went back on the medication and the problems came back. Glycating your kidney, bladder and urethra it's definitely a bad idea.

I started taking jaurdiance on March 2nd for cardiology reasons. I needed to get off of jaurdiance due to a really bad side effect which was gential yeast infection. However I might try jaurdiance again next year depending on my echocardiogram results.

So I have a question for you. If you could please help. Let’s say your blood sugar is at 200 Jardiance will bring your blood sugar down to 110. Through urinating the sugars out. Will the need to urinate slow down once the excess sugar has left your body?

Yes. Jardiance is glucose dependent-- meaning it works only when there is sugar present. If there isn’t, you won’t urinate as excessively. Once your blood sugars normalize, that will slow down and you will urinate more normally. Hope that helps

@@thevoiceofdiabetes thank you so much! It’s really hard to find out that type of information online. One other question if you don’t mind. Is there an issue with not eating until later in the day , say after noon -2 if not hungry as long as blood sugar test are normal? I tend to not eat until later in the day and my daily carb range is 60-116. I definitely don’t want to go into ketosis. I just don’t eat a lot. Just started this medicine so a little nervous. Any help is greatly appreciated. And thank you again!

@@Nic-of3dy you don’t have to eat. It only works “when needed”. So eat as you please. The med doesn’t depend on it.

Yes, definitely. We do not recommend stopping it unless there are other reasons.

I think swelling in your ankles and feet is a side effect of your kidneys probably caused by empagliflozin. Beware of these drug company influencers! Hello. Thanks for the feedback-- My BMI is within normal range, work really hard to keep it that way :). A low carbohydrate diet with intermittent fasting has always worked the best for me without medication. When I'm not low carb and fasting I need to inject insulin.

@@merccomm8715- This is what I am attempting to do. I was just diagnosed in October with type 2 diabetes. I'm afraid to take medication, but the doctor diagnosed Jardiance. I'm very nervous about taking it. I've never had any issues with weight, and I've always been a proponent of IF. The doctors believe it was a hormone treatment I was taking for another issue, that "pushed" me into diabetes. An affected glucose was one of the side effects. I immediately stopped taking the shots when I was diagnosed.

maybe if you change your meals a little. What i did was add more protein and also dont skip any snacks. low carb and no sugar. I do eat sugar but its like splenda in the coffee.

the only problem with this medication is very costly my doctor try to put me on it but my inc would not cover cause the cost of in my area is 1.700 even with goodrx they only offer a $10.00 coupon with inc which $10.00 on medication that cost 1.7000 dont help that almost the cost of down payment on a car cold day in hell i pay that for medication
