OK guys, just live in Oregon, and I have been a lions fan since the days of sanders, and I can't believe how well these beasts of detroit are playing now, I absolutely love it, look out, 2023-24 nfl superbowl in Vegas, will be detroit vs EVERYBODY!!!! OK, (edit)...look how well the lions receiver room has soooo much depth, we have 16+ different people that Goff can throw to, so...that's 4 different groups of receivers that we can employ at any given time, and if you think about it, it also keeps all the players fresh during the course of a game, were in no way one dimensional when it comes to our wr's, we can demolish any defense on any given Sunday, I absolutely love it

Goff is a top 10 QB in the NFL. He's an exemplary teammate and a leader in the locker room. However the most impressive thing to me, is his commitment to the city of Detroit. Ever since he arrived here, he's been nothing but a positive force for this city and this historically down trodden franchise. For the first time in a decade this franchise has a bright future thanks in no small part to Jared. Thank you Jared for a truly enjoyable season, thank you for embracing this team, thank you for giving back to this community, and thank you for stepping up when this team needed you most. Goff doesn't always win the big games, with big plays, but does provide exciting football. Lots of memorable games in his resume, including: MNF slugfest vs Patrick M and the Chiefs, playoff victory against Seahawks in Seattle, with a broken thumb, bowl victory against AF in his final college game - etc

As a non-Lions fan who only watched maybe 2 of their games last year I have takeaways: 1. Jared Goff is criminally underrated 2. Ben Johnson is a wizard. There are a shocking amount of wide open receivers in this video against NFL defenses. 3. The Lions offense is scary, and assuming their defense improves, their team could be a huge problem 4. They are the Lions so I should hold my tongue because something will probably go wrong.

I've been watching the Lions for 45 years. This was the best Lions TEAM I've ever seen. They usually have a few good players and the rest were scrubs with a constant coaching carousel so a system is never established. This is a team top to bottom and now that Ben Johnson is coming back as OC - I feel good about 2023. We might finally get a Division champion and a playoff winner.

I can actually look back and enjoy this. They needed one more win that could have come from any of 3-4 games they lost by 4 points, and they would be causing trouble in the Wildcard pretty soon. About as good a season as many of us hoped. We knew Amon-Ra and Khalif were going to ball out, but, Josh Reynolds, DJ Chark, sprinkle I'm a few Jamo long shots. Speak Brock Wright and Garret Griffen. Both those backs running hard..........great young boys making good plays. All our young kids playing up.

I've been looking at mock drafts lately (as you do when your team is out of the playoffs lol), and I've seen a few different people having the Lions picking CJ Stroud with the pick they got from the Rams at #6. Ya know, before this NFL season started, I wouldn't have disagreed too much with that, but now? I don't think so. Sure, Stroud is a very good QB, he was one the very best in college football this season in fact, but after this season I'm just fine with Goff as the Lions' QB for the foreseeable future. EDIT: Funny to look at this comment almost a year later. The Lions didn't even end up keeping the #6 pick. They wouldn't have had a chance to take Stroud if they did anyway, as he went #2, and is actually now the odds-on favorite to win the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. But the Lions did draft TWO players who should maybe finish in the top 5 for that, in Gibbs and Laporta, so I'm happy with that!!

Weird thought as a Lions fan....if Goff keeps it up at this level for a while, and of course also if he does so while sticking around in Detroit....it could end up being the longest run of solid QB play the Lions fans have seen in....well, in most of our lifetimes! It's gotta already be up there, I mean, we had 12 years of Stafford mostly being good to great, followed by two pretty damn solid seasons for Goff.

I think we should re-sign Chark because if we do, then we are all set at receiver, and each player will be in at least their 2nd season with the offense. He's made some great plays, and is a very good #2. Lock him up and then we can use the draft and free agency for defense. If we sign a big name receiver, or draft a receiver high, they are going to want the ball. We can't afford to screw up the vibe our receiving group has right now. They are unselfish, and take turns sharing the spotlight. Jameson will blow up next year, and that unit will be elite. St. Brown Williams Chark Reynolds Raymond That should be who we roll with.

Lions will now easily pick up the contract option for Goff worth $61 million, he was looking shaky the first 7 games. Now with a QBR ranking of 127 in the last half of the season he was on fire. Really St. Brown was the go to, but the Lions traded Hock away and it made it harder for defenses to guess what the Lions were doing on offense. Rodgers would be crazy walking away from a contract totaling $143 million dollars remaining.
