Very interesting - BUT: it OpenCL can not / no more (?) easily be installed via CRAN - I tried and it failed. It would have been very good / important to know whats needed additionally , e.g. need a working OpenCL SDK with headers and libraries for both i386 and x64 (in my case) and how to install this and make it work in advance - THIS is the EVIL part and it's unfortunately missing. So at least in my case right now your indeed nice approach shows only the "easy" part. May be you can show in another viedeo how this SDK stuff works and what's needed to be done there before one can start with the fancy gpuR stuff - which then hoepully works.
