Hi Jared , Thank you for your contribution . I have his book . Since the harmony is not mentioned on those 4 blues pages , what is to be considered for those lines ? Is it standard blues changes like 111144115415 or jazz blues ?. It seems like he takes some liberty in his changes even when playing standard blues . Could you please help me out with the harmonical changes on blues , blues 1 , blues 2and blues 3 respectively . I sincerely appreciate your help

What's with the horrible rattling noise on Brown's E string? Is that expected?

Ray Brown was known to pluck the E string very hard, causing significant rattle. Some like the sound. I sometimes find it a bit off-putting.

What a horrible thing to say about a man who I'm sure, would've been able to school you! He was a MASTER-no-one of the FATHERS OF THE UPRIGHT BASS-surely you don't think it was really a problem for Ray Brown, even if the E-string did rattle(I didn't notice it because it was inconsequential-perhaps considered it as part of his great sound even)...wow man, get a life! 8-25-24.

@@leonardwahlund659 Yes it's "Bye Bye Blackbird", one of the most famous and well-known standards in all of jazz, and like you, knew what "baba blackburn" really meant-how could you not, after being a part of jazz for so long? 8-25-24.

So any would be great videos that seetoforget the most important part oflearning musicESPECIALLY jazz: listening! Asa rule of thumbsybe people who make videos should, upon editing, remove HALF of the speaking. Heck, it could even be the instructor playing… Then again I suppose maybe this isn’t supposed to be a tutorial video but perhaps more biography. Anyway, not dissing on the creator. Love jazz double bass, ray brown, the old unsung bass players who’s names don’t resonate like bird or miles. Thanks for sharing!

@@JaredPlane thanks for your reply. BTW I'm not part of the SJW snowflake crowd, who themselves tend to get socalled triggered. So no need apologizing to ME. Just do the right thing, as you said. Don't make odd cartoons showing geniuses doing things that have no context! I mean Einstein s Grandchildren wouldn't like to see cartoon of him smoking Crack while at the chalkboard talking math with his peers.
