I’m a violist and using Larsen strings for years and I’m looking to try new strigs. I really loved the Jargar Strings on your violin. Thank you for your video. Unfortunatelly I cant find other vídeos like that for Jargar viola strings.

Most greatful for road testing theJARGAR VIOLIN STRINGS. THEY DO SOUND LUSH AND FULL. I WOULD CHOOSE IF PIRRAZIS UN AVAILABLE. SOUNDS LIKE JARGARS ARE MADE WITH A PERLON TYPE CORE SIMILAR TO EVA PIRAZZIS. ANXIOUS TO TRY THANK YOU FOR TESTING THESE!

I totally agree with you about these strings. I also play in a professional orchestra and have used these for the past two years on modern violins and an 18th Century Italian with great results. The brilliance does tend to subside after about a month of constant playing however they are extremely stable over several hours of concerts / rehearsals requiring little tuning which to me is a sign of a great string. Also, they are very durable and thus are a great value. While I mostly use Obligato strings on the Italian they last about half as long as the Jargar Superior.

I really like you reviews. I just order Jargar Superiors for violin and viola. Thanks!

Those Jargar Superior strings do sound interesting. I have not tried them, but on the samples we can ear here and there, I slightly prefer Eva Pirazzi to them. I tried a lot of different strings since 1980s, and the warmest and most pleasing sound I reached was with Il Cannone by Larsen. Unfortunately Il Canone strings have a weak side on my violin, they are very demanding, and don't admit a large range of pressure possibilities (sound breaks too easily). Especially the D and the A. I am looking for warm sound close to Il Canone but easier to play, less demanding, for classical concerts I give this summer (I am dreaming of unequalled responsiveness and supleness of Helicore with warmer and bigger sound...). I am not fond of Thomastik strings (they lack warmth to me), and I have never played Eva Pirazzi myself, only tried a G Eva years ago (was not convinced so I finally did not buy the set). Have you tried Il Cannone strings and would you say Jargar Superior are easier to play, more responsive ?

They sound great! Have you ever tried Warchal string?

@@Violinista how did your experience compare to the jargar superiors? I really love them.

After how many hours do you change your strings? The Jargar sounds nice but it has more to do with the good playing😊

At least every 3 months or so.

Hi, thanks for your videos! For Someone that only changes strings every six months or once a year, in your opnion wich string is the best/ most durable?

Did you try the Jargar classic ? If so how do they compare ? Always happy to find your videos on KZbin. They are very thorough and informative. Keep up your great work.

I'm so excited to try these strings. How do they compare in brilliance to evah pirazzi? I used to use dominants and after a while my violin just sounds so dark, so I was looking for bright and lively strings to help my violin project.

Same high level as Evan pirazzi

@@Violinista Thanks! I like Evah's but for $100 I find the sound doesn't last long and they fizzle out, so I've been searching for an alternative. I found Vivos last longer

It took me about 2 days for the violin strings to resettle. I practice around an hr a day. My violin also likes dominants.

I feel like dominants work for most of the violinists. 😊

Hello. I have not tried these strings yet. I just use Dominants for mine. Also, your videos are fun to watch and even help me (like the etudes)! I have started to make a KZbin channel myself so I was thinking if you could recognize me in one of your videos? :)

I purchased these. I can't stand them. I was so disappointed because Jargar makes wonderful E strings, esp their blue label and red label E strings. However, this set of strings were terrible. They felt awful under my fingers, esp the E string and I hate the way they sound. Very harsh and rough. Not at all warm. It took FOREVER for them to settle in. Like after a week or so, they still had not settled in. They work well for other people, but not me. I'm not crazy about Evah Pirazzi either. I'm sticking with my Dominants (G, D, and A) and the Jargar red(forte) E string.

I am assuming that your violin doesn’t respond well to those strings. Strings are amazing but one kind won’t fit all. I am glad that Dominants sounds good on your violin.

I wouldn’t put the jargar superiors as thr same category of the evah pirazzis.
