In addition to Teräsbetoni and AHOLA, Jarkko has been vocalist for Dreamtale for one album and composed some tracks for that. Also Antriel vocalist. He has trio called Helmisetti who have been together throughout history and they play a gig a year for fun takes turns on the go playing all instruments. He has also composed to other bands as contractor. He has had many other side projects such as the Northern Kings, and international metal project Forces United. He has had his solo career now for about five years and has released some softer rock and music in other genres. He is also beloved for his Christmas music in Finland and has released several christmas albums. His Christmas church concert tours are sold out in an instant for 8 years now. Jarkko also sings opera, jass, classic rock and metal covers, blues, romantic music with symphony orchestra or smaller settings. One interesting project some years back was to release a heavy jazz album with Oulu all star big band. Metal and rock classics were arranged using world renowed arrangers different ones for each track. It has for example 'Show must go on' as salsa version. Truly amazing album and hypnotizing and ingenious vocal interpretations. Jarkko really had chance to freely play and use his full toolkit mixing all possible styles.

Jarkko also had phenomenal band called AHOLA, skillfully build metal and hard rock tracks with twists, topped up with Jarkko's masterfull vocal play. He has composed most of the music for AHOLA and also produced that. They released two perfect albums, Stoneface and Tug of war, full of very different style tracks from old school rock to acoustic ballads.

Teräsbetoni has released four albums. Metallisydän ballad is from the first one. Albums display out of this earth high screams of any description. Legendary screams are truly Jarkko's trademark. Back in the day band used to perform without shirts in leather pants and created quite a stir in Finland, many loving many hating them. All that is part of their warrior theme, where they defend (metal) truth, fight against wrongdoing and defend weak and vulnerable. They are currently on hold, and performed most recently for Jarkko's 40s couple years back.

Both composition and lyrics are by Jarkko. In addition to vocals he is the basist. He does not have classical training, nor any other vocal training, acually he has according to himself never had a single singing lesson. He says he prefers his original signature and does not want to alter that. He has selftrained his voice to perfection and beyond using great metal legends such as Dio as a guide. But he is highly regarded by some classical professionals for his opera, they are in an opinion that he is one of the few who can sing Nessun Dorma flawlessly. His metal vocals are also highly respected by the likes of Eric Adams of Manowar. Teräsbetoni shared the stage with them back in the day in Finland.
